Just about every time I put in a new disc, it makes this weird noise and doesn't read the disc. Then when my games come out the middle part stars to crack, anyone know how to fix this?

    not reading disc
Also, going to a repair shop to have the Disk Drive repaired or changed will void the warranty
And may result in a ban.

It might be the laser that reads the disc. It's either your discs have a nice scratch or the laser. You still have your warrenty because it lasts 3 years and the slim hasn't been out for 3 years yet

Unless things have changed without anyone telling me, Xbox 360 S consoles only have a 1 year general warranty period, and original Xbox 360 consoles have a 1 year general warranty and a 3 year warranty for the three flashing red lights and E74.

Regardless of console, a faulty DVD drive is covered under 1 year only.

To the original poster, make sure you test multiple discs to confirm the problem is with the console and not a specific or few specific discs. If it is your console and it's less than a year old, contact Xbox Support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

    Disc not reading!!!

Sadly, there is no fixing this. What you have to do is set up a repair for your console. It should be under warranty, so there will be no cost to you. You can set up a repair 1 of 2 ways

    1) go to myservice.xbox.com

    2) call 1-800-4my-xbox and set up a repair.
