disc not playing from dashboard

hello all I am having a problem with my console. its a coupe years old and have had no problems up till this point. today I was trying to start up a disc from the dashboard. after selecting the play game tile it changes to a black screen I can hear the disc
drive stop spinning and the black screen stays, try to exit back to dashboard and the console freezes. I went into my setting and change it so the console starts game when the console is turned on, starts no problem but when I return to the dashboard and try
to start it that way I still get the black screen and then freezing. I am thankful for any help I can get thank you

Xbox 360 Slim Disc Drive only opens with controller, not with button on console

I just recently purchased Forza Motorsport 4 and while I was playing I went to install disc 2 and it said eject disc 1 and swap in disc 2. I can't do that because I can only open my disc drive from the dashboard with my controller. How would I fix that
so I can open the disc drive with the button on the console and not just the controller from the dashboard?

 

HOW DO YOU PLAY AN INSTALLED GAME ON THE NEW DASHBOARD??? Or INSTALL it???

Looking at the picture on my dashboard of the installed game (game was installed prior to the dashboard update) the picture of the game has a white Icon in the upper right corner of a "Game Disc" (similar to the icon you would see on the old dashboard when
looking at game info after hitting the "Y" button). When hitting "X" to "Launch Game" it plays the game from the game disc. No I am not confusing the "verification" process for playing from it. Because while scrolling through in game menus the eye will jerk
around rapidly while in the game when scrolling through options in the game. So that tells me its playing from the disc. Prior to the new dashboard, the OLD dashboard allowed you to hit the "Y" button on the game and the info window on the game would open
with an option to play the game with a hard drive ICON indicatiing playing the INSTALLATION. Now, there doesnt appear to be ANY option to play the game installs from discs. So does anyone know where on the new dashboard you have an opiton to play the install?
Instead of playing from the disc? Ive launched the game several times and even though its installed it ALWAYS PLAYS from the disc during gameplay. Also, HoW dO yOu InStALL games to your hard drive now? Theres no "Y" button option to open an info window and
select "Install game". Anyobody?
