Disc Locked Content

No one is disputing the sales numbers, they got a 100 bucks from me but I didn't play past the second week. On launch day I had 30 people on my friends list playing by the end of the week that number was halved and now it's down to two or three.

The complaints against the game are widespread and justified but there will always be people willing to play bad games. If you enjoy it that's great, play it....the rest of us will call Bungie out for this pile of garbage and hopefully get it fixed ( see
Diablo 3 for how that works ).

But there are few companies that would point to a new IP's sales in an earnings call
as a sign the company is doing well and expects to keep doing so if there wasn't an engaged player base.

You're failing to separate a vocal minority from actual data on who is playing Destiny and how much time is being invested. That you and a vocal minority have stopped playing doesn't change the fact that there are a silent majority who are happily playing.
You're living in an echo chamber of people who post like-minded opinions about the game. That's not something the real world data seems to support at this time.

 

What real world data? You're referring to sales numbers, we have no way to see how large the player base is, how much it's declined since launch, etc.

There are some games that I could agree with you on a vocal minority not representing the player base but I don't see this being one of them.

 

By definition, a 'minority' of people liking a game does not directly make it a factually bad game. It's a bad game in 'OPINION'.

 

i'm honestly indifferent about the content being locked on the disc, part of me agrees that they should not put additional paid content on the disc, but at the same time i'm sure their are a bunch of reasons, #1 being that they are a business and have to
spread the content out to generate the maximum amount of revenue.

all i know is that the gameplay is solid, but everything else was a letdown and they already have my money for the DLC, but if they don't bring something amazingballs to table in the DLC, then i won't be investing in this IP anymore.

 

Does it matter that much? The game is a steaming pile with or without dlc. Btw, locking disc content is the most disgusting practice in modern gaming, it's always with the mainstream titles that the sheeple will pay for, twice.

 

Bioware made Mass Effect 3, the best selling of the franchise. Also the most complained about of the franchise, and that's without adding the endings into the equation.

Mass Effect 3 sold by the bucket loads because people loved Mass Effect 1 and 2. Destiny was always going to be a massive seller because Bungie made Halo. They could have made the game a slide-show of dog poo photos and it would have made the top ten sellers
list...because they made Halo.

People still playing. Well Achievements have a lot to answer for. A casual read of this forum will show people willing to play games to completion because they want the full 'chevo' list.

I'm sure there are people who love Garry's Incident, that doesn't mean it's a good game though.

 

I got it on launch, traded in after 6 days. Repetative is not the word, it is boring, no story, network issues and glitches, guarantee the servers will be switched off after a year. Also the only reason player count looks good at the moment is due to all
the ps4 gamers as its the only descent game they have.

three hours a day.

 

@Vaynel - Your slide-show comment had me in stitches not sure why but thanks for the laugh. I find bungies games to be quite boring, we all have different opinions but I remember feeling exactly the same with Halo Combat Evolved, Exactly the same.

 

Just an "FYI", but if the game is good or not is not what is in question here. Can we go back to discussing the actual topic? This thread is turning into 6th grade bickering, "I like the game." "You're stupid. The game sucks." "No, you're stupid!"

That's strange because none of the people on my PS friends list are playing it either, Binding of Isaac seems to be the top game at the moment and then of course only 12 more days until.......LBP3.
