Disc Locked Content

Apparently Gamefly's top tier plan is 3 games now ( which I already have at 29.95 month ). I just went from 4 to 3 a couple months ago in preparation for the WoW expansion and less console time, went to raise it back to 4 today and the options gone.

Apparently Gamefly is getting more business which would lead me to believe more people feel the way many of us do.

Hahaha! The acronym for "downloadable content" is also the same for "disc locked content".. We should start calling "disc locked content" DLDC or, "Disc Locked Downloadable Content" to avoid confusion in the future..

 

Why DLC is a Good Thing

Are we talking Downloadable Content or Disc Locked Content?

 

How do you get the top tier plan? I've only been a member since the beginning of September. Is that only for longtime members? And yeah I think more people are subscribing to it now too. I'm only doing the one game plan atm but maybe in the future I will
do 2.. 3 would be pushing it lol unless I rent only and forget buying completely. To each their own. 3 for 30 a month is not bad all though. I like how it only goes up 7 each plan.

The 3 tier plan should be available from the start. I've been a member for years so maybe their is a waiting period but if so it shouldn't be long.

I just emailed them asking about the 4 game plan to see if it was actually removed or just some glitch on the site. I prefer the larger game plans, I get games that I probably wouldn't have tried any other way and if they stink....back they go the next day.

 

Instead of telling people how to sell the product THEY make. Just don't buy it. Weighs heavier than ranting on the internet. Everyone trading in their copy of Destiny has likely already gave Bungie/Activision their money already.

I personally have dlc for games I haven't even touched (Forza Horizon 2) or games that aren't even out yet (AC Unity Gold Edition and Dragon Age Inquisition Deluxe Edition purchased) and I couldn't care less where the content is/was/will be stored before
I purchase it. All that matters to me is whether or not I deem it worth my money tbh.

Actually, since all but one of my games are digital, I guess I have on external HDD dlc? Even then, I still don't feel I have the right to determine what the CONTENT PROVIDER deems is the full game and what's is extra because its on a separate device that
I paid for. My right is simply to buy it or not. I can't believe such a simple concept is being drowned out due to the tears of the internet.

 

If I was a developer's. I only do disk locked content as a reward as a community.

 

I wonder how the Triple A Game Industry can even sustain itself at this point. A mediocre game with a *** budget trying to skimp out on simple content for it's customers? Please, tell me how poor and sad you are Game industry, it's totally not your fault.

Simple concept? I didn't even understand what you just said.

We are talking about being charged for future DLC that is actually on our One on launch day.....they are giving us half the completed game for 60 bucks and telling us what a great deal we are getting for only having to pay 20 or 40 for the other half to
be unlocked at future time.

Let's slow it down...

Don't *** and moan at a developer because you don't feel their product is worth your money yet you want to play it...

Don't tell a developer that their product is half the game for $60. They made it so its their say. If you don't feel that... let's say Destiny.... is worth $60 (Neither do I mind you) then don't buy it at that price.

Buy what you yourself deem worthy of your money. [THIS PART IS THE SIMPLE CONCEPT] <-------I exercise this right a minimum of 3-5 times just thinking about what I'm going to eat that day. It can't be as hard as others make it out to be.

We aren't talking about how much we think the game is worth or if it's only half a game.

You go to buy a car and salesman tells you it's 10,000 dollars, cars complete, everything is there. Salesman then tells the tires are another 2,000 and you get them in 2 months, motor is another 2,000 and you get that in 4 months.

So the car is actually 14,000 dollars. The first two months all you can do is sit in it, two months later you can push it around, 4 months later you finally have your complete car.

Is that system still fine by you when it's not a video game?

 

A better analogy, is this case, would be the tires are in the trunk and you don't get the key until you give us the $2000.00 to open it. Lol. Peace, J.R.

 

I'm glad I didn't buy Destiny and support them. What a joke.

 

@Randver -- I don't know what car dealership you're going to, but I would highly advise you don't shop there in the future. I have a few friends who will gladly throw in those tires for free if you buy a car from them.

Your friends obviously don't have the limited edition special tires that I'm getting, that's what requires the two month wait and the extra money. My car dealership is even nice enough to let me keep them while I wait to use them....great guys.
