Disc issuses

Hi can anyone give me some advice. I'm having problems with my xbox one I won't read discs (games, DVD and blu ray) first time. I have to remove and re interest the disc until the console reads it. Also when installing games it install for about 10secs the
stops and says it's queued and starts again. There are no error codes that come up....... Help

Will Advanced Warfare have p2p or a dedicated server?

Depends on what metric you use to measure that 90% otherwise it's still a guess I doubt you physically logged your connection issuses

 

Disc issues

I recently found a fog machine and while I thought I had covered up my Xbox 360 system - it is now not reading disc's the download content is playing like it's supposed to - but it's not accepting or reading the disc and I did try a few different ones

 

I had the same issue. Launch console, and the disc reading has got progressively worse. Eb games would not take it back, they advised me I needed to contact Microsoft support.

I sent my x1 away for repairs on the 5th of October. I still haven't received it back. I got an email Tuesday last week saying I should have it back within 3 business days, which would have been Friday 31 October. Their tracking number doesn't even work.

I spoke to a consultant via online text chat, who was adamant it would be back by the end of this week. If it not back by Friday this week, I'm gonna tear Microsoft a new hole. Their service is terrible, and after newly 12 years of supporting xbox I'm seriously
considering jumping ship.

Long story short, your console is ***. Don't expect them to fix/replace it any time soon.

 

I am having the same problem with my disc not reading. I do what you do and take it out then put it back in. Most of the time it works within a few tries but sometimes it takes over 20 time(like it did putting in COD AW for the first time). I am just hoping
it doesn't stop working permanently one day

 

I just tried to use a couple discs on my xbox one COD bundle and nothing is reading . It makes a slight whirring noise but its not scratching the discs or anything. Crazy to have problems on day 3 of owning the system.

 

am having the very same problem it wont read my copy of forsa horizon 2 I got to remove it and try again sometimes it works when I go to watch a bluray disc but it really should not be happening for the money I have paid on my xbox one

 

Has anyone here cleared their persistent storage (which is essentially a memory cache involving disc reading on your system)? Most of the time this is used when Blu Rays have issues, but I have seen several occasions where this process fixes game disc issues
as well.

To do this, press Menu, go to Settings -> Disc & Blu Ray, and then choose "Clear Persistent Storage." Here's the thing, you actually have to do that THREE TIMES for it to fully clear the cache. Then, do a hard reboot (hold power for 8 seconds, wait for the
power brick to turn orange, then unplug from the wall for 5 minutes.) Plug back in, turn on the console, and see if your discs are working any better!

Mine does this too. It took me months of trying to get Thor Dark World to work.

However I was doing some exploratory work to see if I should send it in for repair since my warranty ends in 11 days and I found a possible fix. When you go to insert the disc, hold it like halfway in the drive for a second (you should hear the xbox trying
to pull the disc in) then let it go in. I literally just discovered this a few minutes ago so I'm still testing but it's worked 10/10 times so far (way better rate than normal).

My personal new concern is that other than this, my day one xbox works great so I'm hesitant to send it in because I don't want an advanced exchange unit that is worse off or causes me new problems and I'd really rather not wait 3 weeks+ to get back this
repaired.

 

Temporary fix. Hold unit at a back at a 45 degree angle then put in disc. My system was having the same issue until I accidentally did this. Again this is temporary, I finally sent mine in to be repaired while the warranty is still good. Hope this helps.
