Disc grinding/poor service

Discus and support Disc grinding/poor service in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; So, I purchased my console on the black friday just after release, and it has only just recently started making the now infamous "disc grinding" noise...     Disc grinding/poor service


    So, I purchased my console on the black friday just after release, and it has only just recently started making the now infamous "disc grinding" noise and fails to load any discs. I tried submitting a service request, but apparently there is only a 1 year
    warranty on these things and they want to try and charge me $115 to repair my console. So, not only do I have to send them the unit and wait X amount of weeks for the repair, but it's also not covered under any warranty. Can any company stand behind a product?
    I'm anticipating another RRoD situation here. I guess I'll hope they extend warranties and fix this growing issue.

    Grinding noise and disc stuck in drive

    After inserting a disc the drive now makes a grinding noise and will not eject the disc. Manual ejection does not work. Cannot register XBOX One to set up a service request. Any ideas?

    Disc Grinding

    Mine has always made an awfully loud humming noise whenever I insert discs, whether they're game discs or DVD's, it just does not stop! I didn't realize this wasn't supposed to happen until my brother and I decided to watch my Avatar: the Last Airbender
    series on his One and I noticed his didn't make a constant loud humming noise at all. Don't mistake me, my box still runs the discs no problem, that's actually why I didn't take the time to look up this issue sooner.

    I got it for Christmas last year from my dad...is it too late for me to get it fixed without taking money out of my own pocket? I wish I would have known sooner! It's soo annoying and I really want it fixed if it's damaging my discs at the same time!

    When first purchased everyone has a limited time to purchase an extended warranty from support for the console. After that time the standard one year warranty applies to all.

    After the warranty has expired then repairs must be paid for as is standard with all products from all companies.

    It comes with a 1 year manufacturer defect warranty and it certainly sounds like you need to take advantage of that. You can either set it up yourself by using the
    http://myservice.xbox.com, or you can call them at 1-800-4-MY-XBOX. Let them know you're having issues with the disc drive making grinding noises and not playing discs and they can set you up with one
    of their repair/replacement options.

    Friends coming online notifications.

    ^^ you may need to get your Xbox looked at. My disc drive doesn't grind at all and I have a day one. Also your internet must cause the poor Netflix quality because mine is fine as well. I do agree with you that we should have access to memory and notifications
