Disc for Download Code Swap

I have over 60 games for the Xbox One, with about 40 on disc, I bought the disc versions as they were usually cheaper (e.g I bought Doom btand new off of amazon for £8 and on the Microsoft store it was full price ' £49.99). Soon I will be moving to the USA
(I currently live in the UK) and my Xbox won't work there due to the difference in power, even if I bought a new Xbox when I get there, the discs wouldn't work as they are region restricted. I would be more than happy to pay a small fee per game to swap a
disc for a digital code, but I will NOT spend thousands of dollars re-buying a digital copy of every game I have at full price.

I know that many others have the same issue and it would be a great move by Microsoft to introduce a feature like this (Though I highly doubt anybody with any influence will ever see this post so I'm not getting my hopes up).

P.S. I have done some research and an adaptor would NOT work, the kind of technology needed to convert the power effectively would cost more than just re-buying everything in the USA.

Halo 5 collectors edition disc swap doesn't work

Hi! Im from Germany and i bought the Halo 5 Collectors Edition. I want to swap the download code for a disc. I had several chats with the support, and they always told me they can only do the swap when i have an Xbox One serial number. Problem: i dont
have an Xbox One yet. Its planned for christmas. Please help me quick!! There are just 11 days left for the disc swapping campaign.

Congrats on the pending move, I know how exciting and scary that can be but it's always been worth it, in my experience.

Xbox One game discs are actually not region restricted at all. You could send me your UK discs and I can pop them into my US console and they'd work, no problem. In fact, I personally have purchased disc based games in different regions around the world
(see above, I moved a lot!) and they've all worked on the Xbox One console I purchased through the USA.

Now, with that in mind - Depending on the kind of Xbox One you own, all you'd need to replace for it to work is either the power brick or the cord. If you have the original Xbox One console, once you reach the US you can hit up
phone/chat support and order a 110v power supply for your console. If you have an Xbox One S, that has an internal power supply that will auto change the voltage and you'd just need to purchase
a new power cord for a couple bucks.

Hopefully that helps clarify a bit! I've totally been where you are (except in reverse, I took my US console to Italy!) so I know it can be frustrating.

They do. Pop the disc in and a copy wrapped in the emulator is downloaded.

This is the issue though. I put in the first disc of Mass Effect 2 and download that. Now is that going to give me both discs that will swap automatically when needed or am I going to have to put the second disc into the One, download that, and then exit
and start the other disc when I need to swap.

It's going to be interesting to see how Microsoft handle this.

No. It's not possible to swap a code for a disc. The download will be in your download history so you can redownload it the next time you can connect to the Internet.

Also, even if you could re-enter the code on the web, there is no way to download any of the content from the marketplace on a computer. It will only queue the download to start the next time you connect on your console.
