disc drive wont read games

too 100% the same Problem here like "Opa Andre" in this Thread:

I'm having the preview and found the issue as following:

Right after switching on your Xbox, the drive will initialize successfully.

This means, if you have a game disc in the drive, this one will be initialized correctly.

If you don't have a disc in the drive, the first gamedisc you put in after powering on, will also load.

As soon as you press the eject button to eject the disc because you want to play another game, you will probably even notice that the first eject fails as the disc will be partially ejected and before you can grab it, it will be loaded again.

After this, you will be able to eject the inserted disc, but independed which game disc you are trying to load (I tried several discs like Battlefield4 or Titanfall), you will always get the 0x21 error. If you are close to the xbox and can hear the disc
Spinning, you will also notice that you just hear the disc but you won't hear the initialisation (movement) of the laser you normally notice when inserting a disc.

I see this as being an software issue with the last preview which needs to be fixed asap. Right now, when running into this error, the only way is to just let the disc within the drive, shutdown the xbox and restart it.

Note: I'm not using the "stand by" Feature - if you are using it, it might be that your xbox still can't read the disc because it wasn't powered down completely and thus won't reinitialize the drive when powering up.

It would be great if someone from the Support can confirm that they are aware of this issue and will provide a solution with the next update.

 

mine does this every time i change discs i have to turn the xbox one off then on again every time i want to play a different game, its very annoyng

 

Guys the most effective way to resolve this is as follows....

Go to settings/disc & Blu Ray, click on persistent storage & it will give you the option to clear. As soon as i cleared mine the error disappeared & the discs could be read. No need to keep removing & re-adding your accounts or having to go through the hard
reset process.

I just have to wait now to see if the issue re-occurs.

My friends and I all had this issue after the update was installed. We all held the power button down to reboot the machine and after that it worked ok. Didn't happen to us until we tried to change discs.

The next Beta-Update from Today 23.03.2014 doesn't Fix the "0x21" issue On My Xbox.

The Same like described in My First Thread

 

tive o mesmo problema com o leitor de disco acusando o erro (0x21) nos games toda vez que troquei... segui a orientação de reiniciar o console (hard-reset) e deu certo...

 

iv started getting this aswel, every time i change game it just says insert disc , so i have to do a full power cycle, microsoft have acknowledged its a fault within the disc tray itself, on the downside they want you to either fork out to send it abroad
and be without your xbox one for 3 weeks or more, or if you want a console delivered to your doorstop as they take yours away you have to pay £326 as a holding charge and then if they dont agree that its a proper fault you dont get your money back, so basically
if they get a game working when it gets there your fooked

 

Follow the process on my previous comments guys. it will resolve it for you

 

Just make sure you have the cd drive empty!

The problem has returned after 6 or hours!

 

I Tired ALL the stupid suggestions and nothing works . they better fix this ^&^& .

 

i also am having this issue what has helped it going to the setting that starts the inserted disk either "automatically" or "manually" set it to manual. so you will then have to go to the games tab and press A to start the game. It has helped a lot. An d
i havent had to hard reset everytime i wanted to change games. It still does suck the disk back in quickly after i eject a game though . VERY ANNOYING! i just let it do it i dont wana grab it while its tryin to pull it in and break something. They NEED to
fix this ASAP. We are all helping Microsoft by being in this program and i for one dont want a broken 500$ console for my troubles "helping out".

I've but started to experience this problem. I've tried all of the above. it seems to fix the problem, temporly. it will recognize the disc in the trap, however, i will need to hard reset again to change games.so overtime i change discs i need to hold
power button for 8 seconds, unplug the console, unplug the power brick etc. with 5 profiles and switching games, this has become a big hassle. i understand as a "beta" tester, bugs are expected. Microsoft, please hurry a patch

 

Just happened to me for first time today I ejected titanfall then the xbox one put it right back in the console without me even touching it? Eventually put in ghosts and said my disc was dirty when there is not one scratch on any of my games. Tried all of
my games and said all were dirty and received error code. Was ready to box it up and take it to gamestop and either get a new one or start over with a ps4 caz I'm seriously *** sick of this update crap with xbox everything is fine then they update and it creates
a *** storm of problems. Get it right microsoft we don't spend more money than gaystation owners for this! So anyways I removed my gamertag from my console restarted the system by holding down power button enrolled gamertag back into console out in ghosts
and everything is cool as of now
