DISC DRIVE WEIRD NOISE !!!

This started to happen 2 days ago and its so annoying. This is the 3rd broken console from Microsoft with a disc drive issue. Need asisstance not happy.

recently when im playing disc games this weird whirring noise starts coming from the disc drive, is this a serious issue?

 

Xbox One Disc Drive

My xbox one won't make the weird noises, it just completely wont let the disc in. It normally will just slide the disc in easily but the disc drive is unresponsive. Now, my Xbox one wont even turn off.

I feel that I am not being helped through xbox customer support. They exchanged my xbox 3 times already and I really dont have any nerves left to exchange this faulty console again for something that has already been used and refurbished. I am sorry but
no! i think this time Microsoft has to offer me another solution.

I understand what you are saying but I would think the main support team on here would probably have to refer you to the other team via that link anyway regardless of whether it was an exchange/repair or another solution. That being said you are welcome
to wait until they pick up this thread and respond here. Please bear in mind its a US holiday at the moment so there is a bit of a delay this weekend.

 

Hey there, RottenBoogers! I'm sorry to see that the console is making some noises that concern you. I checked that video, and it simply sounds like the drive is only reading the disc, and should not cause any damage to the disc or your console. Once the
disc has been read and installed, the noise will stop happening and the console will be quiet as it was before.

However, if you feel that your console is still making too much noise, you are more than welcome to try to get it repaired through the link that Zeus has provided above. The phone or chat teams will be able to assist you further with that. Please let them
know the number of times you have needed to get this console repaired so that they may look into appropriate action for you.

You are more than welcome to keep us updated here on the situation, as well! Post back if your console is all good, or if you feel that you've received another faulty one. We'll want to ensure you are all sorted out at that point.

 

Mine did that as well, right before the blu ray drive failed. I am also on my 3rd xbox one console - make sure to get it seviced ASAP because microsoft no longer renews warranties after a repair. They give you a 3 month warranty from the date of service.
My last repair on my day one console was September 2014...the disc issue happened again back in April and I am now stuck with a paper weight because I refuse to pay $179 for a console that hasn't lasted more than 6 months without failing. If it's still under
warranty specify that you would like a new console after you send yours in.

I received an official email from Microsoft. I replied and explained my point of view and I described the so called help that I received through so far "Misses Quizzel" in this so called "support" forum. Lets see what their reaction is going to be.

Let me just restate that I find it incredible that I am not being helped here by the official Microsoft staff and I am being somehow forced to contact Microsofts lousy call center again which keeps sending me used, broken and refurbished hardware. My console
was brand new out of the box. It didnt have a single cratch on it. And the crap i keep receiveing from their so called advance exchange program is an insult. The current console that is making this noise came with 2 huge burned marks on the back.

Maybe it is time that I should mention that I am a working journalist and I have a degree in law.

 

Hey, RottenBoogers! We are unable to assist anyone with setting up repairs on your account for security reasons, and you need to go through phone or chat support to complete that.

Were you able to set up another repair through them since I had posted and the console that you received is the one you are describing? If so, we can look into this further. However, if you haven't set up another repair since my last post, I highly suggest
doing so as they have processes for receiving faulty hardware.

Please do post back and let us know where you are in the process! We do want to make sure you're taken care of, however the necessary steps must be completed first.

Update: I have contacted Xbox customer Support 2 times already and I was promised a new console by one agent. 12 days later and still no reply I contcted them today again. 2 hours later and I was just told that my case was lost and the agent this time told
me that I cannot receive a "new" console that is not refurbished.

I find this unacceptable. I bought the system at launch and it didnt last 3 months and now I have to exchange it again and again? This is like russian roulette. You never know what used crap you will get from the so called advance exchange service team.

To sum it up: at this point I cannot recommend to anyone to buy an xbox one system. Lousy customer support and your xbox warranty is worth NOTHING!

And I was thinking of buying one this holiday... Think I'll hold off.
