Disc Drive Weird Humming/Buzzing Sound

So I bought my xbox one a little less than a year ago, I believe it'll be a year this December. Any-who I've noticed that when I insert a disc into the disc drive, the drive makes a weird buzzing/humming sound. It will stop and start, but other than when
I have a disc in it does NOT make that noise. I also have NO issues whatsoever with my xbox functioning or reading my discs. I do not believe it is over heating, it's on a flat surface, (my dresser to be exact) and there is nothing underneath of it or around
it. I have dusted it and checked the fans. It even makes the noise if I've paused the disc. Like I've said, nothing else is wrong with my xbox, it reads everything, connects to the internet, and etc. with no problems.

humming sound

Humming/buzzing would have to be due to one of these following parts:

-Xbox system fans

-Disc drive

-Hard drive

These are the only moving parts which could cause vibration or buzzing.

Please check that there is not disc in the drive, check that system fans are blowing correctly, and lastly, check that the sound is not coming from your hard drive by taking the hard drive out and see if the sound persists.

Xbox One Disc Drive humming/buzzing

Recently, I have experienced a humming from the disc drive on my Xbox one. However, today I tried a diffstent disc- Star Wars battlefront- and it was fine, no humming or buzzing. It seems it only buzzes or hums when I have forza 6 in the Xbox. Anyone got
any idea what's going on or how to fix it??

Hi there!

Sorry you're having issues with your console. If you're getting that humming it could be the bluray drive or the hard drive. Hard to say. Check your discs to make sure there are no scratches on them. If not then see if you can blow some compressed air in
the console and clear any dust. If none of the above works the your options are to live with the noise or send it in for repair at the link below. I do caution you to watch your warranty ad you do not want it to expire before sending in your unit.

My discs are fine and I tried the compressed air to no avail. I think I'm just going to send it in for repair, my warranty isn't up yet.

Could you please describe the noise?

Is it a rattling noise like a worn out fan bearing?

Or is it a deep humming sound like a disc spinning in the drive "off center"?

Is it an electronic buzzing or humming?

Is it a "whining" sound like electrical coils chirping?

Depending on the noise it can be different things, and not all can be fixed by yourself.

Unless it's a disc rattling in the drive, there is nothing you can do to fix it yourself, and you need to sign up your console for a (warranty) repair at https://devicesupport.microsoft.com

Does that happen with every game disc?

Does it also happen with BluRay movies and movie DVDs or music CDs?

When the disc is inserted, does the console show a disc is inserted?

How does the buzzing sound? Is it more a "humming" buzzing sound, as if the disc is uneven and is spinning unevenly? Or is it an electrical buzzing, like an electrical motor unable to turn? Or is it a grinding buzzing as if plastic gears are slipping?

What about the beeping noise? Is it a beep similar to the console turning on and off, or is that a different beep?

Can you record a video of your console doing this and uploading that to YouTube?
