    About a month ago I bought the Xbox one Gears of War LE and was very happy with my purchase. Before it was even released, I purchased the Elite Controller about 5 games and controller charging dock. So I was ready once it arrived. Not long after it arrived
    I purchased the NEW Astro A50's w/ base station. Now I'm cooking with hot grease. About a week later I started getting an error message whenever I inserted a disc. 0x803F8001 error. So I ejected the disc and reinserted it back. It worked! Great! Mind
    you, at this time I was using the included stand and my xbox was vertical. Well no too much later error message again. Tried the first remedy again, not working. Then I remembered I had a similar problem when I had my PS4 vertical. Once I sat it horizontally,
    it worked fine. Well you know what I did. Horizontal mamba for my xbox one as well. It worked...for a day. Contacted microsoft and on with the troubleshooting. Nothing is working. I'm then told to return it to the retailer since it hasn't been too long.
    Which is what I did. Not very happy right now with microsoft. I told the CS rep that I had it vertically and started having the issue, once I placed it horizontally it was fixed for a hot second. He told me, well they really should be placed horizontally...WHAT!!
    Then why sell/give people a vertical stand if it's not meant to be placed vertically. That's just not smart. Now I'm paying for xbox live and not even using it. Along with the games and accessories I purchased. My question is: Has anyone had any problem
    with their new Xbox one S disc drives? Also, do you have yours vertical or horizontal and if vertical, have you had any issues. Thanks.

    Takes a long time to read discs...

    The cheap and easy start is to use a DVD cleaner disc to try to clean the disc drive lense. Other than that It could be a damaged or mis-aligned laser in the drive that is VERY tricky to fix. If the cleaner disc won't work just swap out the drive.

    Xbox One - Won't read any discs

    I had the Titanfall edition delivered on Friday and it just doesn't read discs at all. Microsoft have been pretty uncooperative about issuing a replacement because 'the Titanfall edition console isn't on the system at the moment, so we can't authorise it'.
    Absolutely infuriated.

    I feel the same way, too. But instead of returning it or sending it in for repair, I will have to buy another one. During that time, it was due to the uncooperative reps from customer service. However, this happened a long time ago.
