    Disc Drive Refuses to accept Disc - Makes Grinding Noise - Broken Disc


    Unlike most of the disc drive issues that have been reported on the web, my disc only goes in 3 quarters of the way, spins and grinds, ultimately resulting in a scratched disc. Its pretty horrifying stuff, being that I purchased a brand new xbox one and
    Fifa 15 yesterday.

    Disc drives malfunctioning in Xbox One units

    I just read an article that says Microsoft is acknowledging faulty disc drives in some Xbox One units. Some people are having a problem with the drive making a grinding noise and not reading the disc, so if you have this problem, you're not alone!

    Disc drive taking a while to read discs

    My disc drive has also started taking considerably longer to read discs this month for some reason although mine takes around 30 seconds or so rather than minutes like OP, and even more worryingly it about 1/4 of the time when I put a disc in the drive will
    make a grinding noise and refuse to attempt to load it at all!

    What's an "overheating sound"? Is the disc drive making grinding noises or something?

    You'll never have a 100% silent disc drive when it is reading data from the disc. As long as it is still reading/detecting the disc fine and not a loud grinding noise, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Hmm, a clicking noise...could be the hard drive.
