    Disc Drive Read Errors


    Hi all...apologies if this has been discussed in the past, but I did not see it on the first few pages!

    Occasionally, and only after the most recent update, when I turn my xbox one on after being off for a while, it will not be able to read the disc that's already in there. It gives me the error that I need to insert the disc for the game, or buy it in the
    xbox store. When I eject and reinsert, it works fine. Why is it unable to read the disc after it's been sleeping?

    Also, this has happened twice in the middle of a game. It'd back out to the home screen and tell me I need to insert the disc or buy from the store, even though I was just playing the game.

    Anyone with similar issues?

    Has anyone had this problem?

    MW3 has disc read errors a lot. I have my copy saved to my hard drive, and I still get disc read errors. Not sure how to fix it.

    I have encountered the same issue lately after stopping a game and going on to something like netflix for a while and try and start the game again. I hope theres a fix to this soon it can be annoying

    Same here, I've been dealing with this issue for several weeks now. Have to manually eject and reinsert the disc is a pain.

    i have been having the same issue i was going to send mine in for repair but decided to hold out and wait for any updates.

    Does any other game work? If not it could be that it's a disc drive error with reading discs...

    Hi,

    This error is a disc read error. A cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is an error reading the data from a disc. There could be a number of reasons for this:

    • The data on the disc is corrupt (highly unlikely)
    • The area of the disc being read is dirty or damaged
    • Your PC DVD drive laser isn't working as it should or the diode is dirty

    The main part of of MSF2020 can be installed on practically any drive, it does not need to be C:\. Mine is installed on my internal SSD F:\ drive.

    Check the disc isn't dirty or damaged. If it's dirty clean it with a soft none-abrasive cloth.
