Disc Drive Problem

Hello everyone, I have a DAY ONE edition XBOX ONE and I have been running into some issues for the past couple months. My disc drive doesn't always read my games and to top that my disc drive makes a weird sound. I noticed it is chipping the inside of my
games so now I am scared that it may ruin my games further than it already has. So I guess what im wondering is will Microsoft do something for me.

Disc drives malfunctioning in Xbox One units

I just read an article that says Microsoft is acknowledging faulty disc drives in some Xbox One units. Some people are having a problem with the drive making a grinding noise and not reading the disc, so if you have this problem, you're not alone!

You can chat with Microsoft as you are chatting with us, through texts. It's one of the options rather than being on the phone with them.

I've also never heard of them blowing people off on this topic. They're usually good with this stuff from what I've heard.

 

You should still be covered under warranty. Check at the link below and set up a repair of the console.

Same problem here. Have done a bunch of their trouble shooting but after awhile the problem comes back. Want to do a repair request but wondering what the turn around time is and if I have to re-Download anything I have when I get the new one. (Download
caps suck)

 

Im having the same problem and when i call Microsoft they r willing to fix it cuz its under warranty. But while doing the warranty order me and the service person on the phone had problems placing the order to ship my xbox. They told me they would they would
resolve the issue and get back to me via email..i have not heard back from them and its been 3 or 4 days.. Im really disappointed. My xbox has turned into a 500 dollar netflix machine cuz i can't use the disc drive...

If you have not heard back from phone support by now you should give them a call again.

 

Having same issue, also got day one edition. Only has trouble with certain game discs. GTA V being the worst, 17 attempts to get disc loaded. Looking for people with a similar issue on youtube, & stumbled across a video explaining a solution to my problem.
Apparently by lifting my console up & inserting disc would allow the disc to drop down into the drive. I found this abit odd but tried anyways. And it loaded first time!! So i now have to do this everytime. Also on a seperate issue my Kinect has also stopped
working for no apparent reason. Been with the xbox since the beginning & this console in my opinion has been the worst in the line.

 

I have had my Xbox ONE Day One edition repaired. They pretty much replace the whole unit, so yes you will need to re-download stuff. My Xbox was out of warranty and they covered it free of charge. The turn around time for me was 4 days but I live close to
a repair outlet.
