    Disc Drive Not Working Well


    I bought an Xbox One on Day 1 and for the past few months, the disc drive will not play a sic 9/10 that you insert it.

    It makes a sort of grinding sound and acts like no disc was ever inserted.

    I'm guessing I just need to send it in?

    Disc drive not working

    To solve your issue I suggest you to change power modes if you use Instant-On power mode and power cycle the console:

    Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

    Go to Settings.

    Select All Settings.

    Select Power.

    Select Power mode.

    Select Energy saving.

    Perform a "hard power cycle" by holding down the console's power button for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the power button again to restart it.

    Try your disc again. Wait a few seconds to see if the console recognizes it. If the console can now read the disc, you can revert back to Instant-On power mode.

    If the previous solution didn't fix the issue, your console will need a repair. Go to the Online Service Center to request a repair:

    Disc drive not working

    Hey all. I just ejected my game to put in a movie. Suddenly the xbox stopped taking discs. I tried to get it to accept but as i tried to feed in the disc it never sucks it in.

    Does sound like the disc drive is on it's way out so yes,you would need to send it in for repair.

    Xbox triangle with an exclamation on them ⚠️

    Have you tried the games with the disc in the drive? When the disc goes in the drive, the triangle with the exclamation mark goes away, which will then let you play the game. Make sure the disc drive is working as well. If the drive isn't working then the triangle will stay, and you won't be able to play the disc based games, as the disc can't be read.

    If you remove the hard drive, does the Halo 4 disc as well as all the other discs works?

    It's possibly the disc drive. Simply swapping the drives does not work on a 360. Swapping the drives does violate the terms of service and can get your console banned as well.

    I am very sorry to hear that your disc got scratched. I have had this happen to me as well. What I was able to do was barrow a friends disc and download it to my HDD and then I returned his disc to him and then got my scratched disc and put it in and because
    the game was fully on my HDD it was able to read the part of the disc to start the game. I am not sure if this will work in your case but it was able to work for me. Hope this helps! : )
