Disc Drive Making Running/Loading Sound After Disc Removed

Hello, I have an issue but did not know where to post it exactly. Randomly, after i remove a game from the Xbox one after ejecting it, the Disc drive will make sounds as if a disc was put in and its checking for a disc, but i have already removed it. It
doesnt grind, tick or whatever, but this disc drive running sound persists for about 10 seconds after i remove a game. I was wondering if this is normal.. maybe the cache clearing, or is it a problem that becomes worse? Thank you in advance

Disc drive sounds like a geiger counter sometimes will not read disc

My cd/dvd drive on my 360 makes a strange sound like a geiger counter. I have to remove a disc to get t drive to stop running or making the sound. Disc are not loading I get disc read errors like it's a dirty disc. Will xbox have to repair or can I replace
the disc myself.

Downloading Games To The Hard Drive

You should always install the disc to the hard drive

1) Its makes the system run faster
2) You don't burn up your DVD drive
3) If you somehow ruin your disk,it works most of the time

If you don't know how to do it, these are the steps - From Xbox.com

1) Insert the game disc into the disc drive.

Note: After you insert the disc, the default option is to automatically start the game. If the game starts, exit the game, and return to the Xbox Dashboard.

2) Go to Home.
3) Highlight the game you want to install with your controller.
4) Press X on your controller.
5) Select Install to Hard Drive.

A progress indicator appears while your game is installed to your hard drive. Installing a game to your hard drive can take up to 12 minutes.

Notes
· Installing a game to your hard drive requires between 4 and 8 gigabytes (GB) of free disc space.
· After installing a game on your hard drive, you still need to have the game disc in the disc drive when you start the game.
· Installing games on your hard drive improves load times and minimizes game disc access.
· Original Xbox games can't be installed on an Xbox 360 Hard Drive.

I don't think it is really anything to be concerned about as long as it is not causing any kind of issues. If it starts causing some other issues then would be a time to possibly look into getting it repaired.

So my Xbox One had the disk grinding issue too. I was able to get it to read discs though.

Listening to the 'grinding' sound - it seemed like it was the motor that loads the disc into the slot. It seemed like it kept trying to load the disc even after it was all the way in the drive. On a hunch I put the disc barely in the drive - no enough to
grab the disc but enough for the 'loading' motor to start running. After a second or two I put the disc all the way in. This time the disc was loaded normally and started to spin up. I'm still going to replace the unit, but at least I can play the games I
purchased on disc until the advanced replacement unit arrives.

I have had my xbox make those sounds when playing future soldier (disc was never damaged) the best way to be safe is install the game to the hard drive then it only reads the disc to make sure its there then runs the game from the hard drive.

Obsessive Power

Do either the multiplayer maps or the zombie maps load when you try them in single player as in Split screen? If they do not load still then the issue is with your game disc. Is it dirty or scratched? Even DLC map packs will fail to load with a damaged
disc as vital game assets from the disc are still required for these maps to load too.

Things to try:

Cleaning your disc or taking it to a game store to have the scratches removed

Installing your game to the hard drive

Installing your friends or a rental copy to your hard drive and then using your disc to run the game.

-Its common for the system to turn on (partially) make some computer sounds and even the disc drive to make computer sounds and disc drive sounds.
