Disc drive low rumble noise

My Xbox one has been making a chirping noise for some time which I have been able to ignore, but now the disc drive is making a low rumbling noise when a disc is in it, even if I'm not playing it. Anyone else experience this?

Disc drives malfunctioning in Xbox One units

I just read an article that says Microsoft is acknowledging faulty disc drives in some Xbox One units. Some people are having a problem with the drive making a grinding noise and not reading the disc, so if you have this problem, you're not alone!

Xbox ONE vs S Noise

I think the original Xbox was the loudest console I owned. Even then, I never minded the noise, really. What kind of noise are you guys talking about? Fans, disc drive, or general clicky noises from the hard drive?

What surface is your xbox on. It might just be vibrations, try putting a couple of magazine under the pads at the bottom of the console. If this doesn't help it might be the motor of the drive. The drive should idol shortly after starting the console if
your not using the drive. Make sure the fan ducts don't have dust in them and there is plenty of space for air to circulate and is not the system trying to keep cool. Hope this is some help.

Thanks for the response. It's sitting in a very solid entertainment center and the console is very stable as well. It's possibly dusty, so I'll check that out. I'm just so gun shy with this console as it's build quality is questionable.

Did you ever figure out what was going on? Or did you have to get it repaired? I'm curious cause mine has started to do this just out of the blue the other day, I have had it since day one and usually all I could hear was a little fan noise. I know it's
the disk drive cause it was making the noise and when I was watching netflix so I went over to it and popped the disk out just to see and the noise stopped. I thought maybe it was just keeping it spinning so it could do that instant back into the game thing
but I had shut the game off completely so that isn't it either.

Can't recall where I read it but believe the rumble triggers will stop rumbling when the battery is low. If you notice they're not rumbling I'd plug it in.

[/quote]your absolutely right, if you download it to your hard drive it should eliminate the noise, if it doesnt you could have a bad copy of the game, or your dvd drive could be malfunctioning

Nope...I had it on the hard drive, still makes the noise. I erased it from the hard drive, still makes the noise.

Funny thing....BOps purrs along just fine...MW3 sounds like a semi truck rumbling around in there.
