Disc drive loud noise

Hi, yesterday my xbox one disc drive started to make a grinding and loud whirring noise as it loads up discs, the discs read fine and there isn't any damage, just an annoying horrible sound coming from the xbox one. The noise does disappear after a while
and it doesn't always happen, but just as I think it's 'fixed' itself it starts to whir and grind again. Is this the beginning of a disc drive failure? It used to be almost silent and had no problems before.

its a day one console, so wondering will I be out of warranty having bought it in November 2013? How much would it usually be for Microsoft to fix a fault like this? Tried multiple discs and all have the same problem.

help with little 360 problem

so i have a game disc and it is a bit "dirty." i always do an install test to see if the game will work. it installed 100% with no problem. was quite loud the entire time too... but after the install, my xbox 360 continued to be super loud.

i got a quieter Slim model, not the super slim, just the regular slim. not sure if it is the disc drive or what. tested a few game discs and there is no noise. just with this game. just sitting in the disc drive on the dashboard and it buzzes loudly. cleaned off the disc with a dry cloth and still loud. havent actually played it yet (Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, a rental), and have no doubts it will play. but if i can do something about that noise, that would be preferable. thanks.

My 360 made noise and froze all the time. I bought a cooling fan. No problems now.

 

The grinding noise isn't good and you should talk with Microsoft about a repair job. Whether it is in warranty depends on where you live. In the UK for example, the warranty is usually longer due to local laws.

Microsoft will be able to tell you whether you have a warranty though.

Default is one year, but at release you could extend it to three years for $59 or something similar.

 

i am having same problem day one edtion noise has been getting louder . When it first started only did it sometimes now whenever disc spins loud noise.

 

Thanks, it's weird it's stopped doing it now. I'll wait and see what happens, maybe it was just a minor blip and its mended itself?

 

Mine is making a grinding, weird noise it also stops but then comes back. Now it hasn't gone away. No scratches on the games, everything works fine, sept the constant loud noise that sounds like a fan, or disc drive. I don't let anyone play it so it doesn't
get worse and screw something up. Is this something I need to send in for repair? Mine is an Xbox 360.
