    Disc Drive Issues?


    So I was playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on my Xbox One the other day, and felt like playing the other Tomb Raider game. So I took the ROTTR disc out and put in the Tomb Raider (TR) disc, and when I put it in, it wasn't reading it. So I tried putting the
    disc back in and wasn't reading still. I turned off the console to see if that'd solve the problem, and the next thing I know, the XO isn't turning back on. I put Rise back in and it's not turning on anymore. And BTW, it was the TR: Definitive Edition, in
    case you were wondering.

    So I've been DM'ing XO Support on Twitter and now, here I am.

    Ever since my console stopped working, I've been wondering what's the problem? The console, I think, is broken. Any ideas? Help? Let me know!

    Takes a long time to read discs...

    The cheap and easy start is to use a DVD cleaner disc to try to clean the disc drive lense. Other than that It could be a damaged or mis-aligned laser in the drive that is VERY tricky to fix. If the cleaner disc won't work just swap out the drive.

    Hey there Topes Ingenious!

    Sorry to hear about the issue! If your console still is not turning on, I recommend trying a few steps:

    • First, unplug your consoles power cord and wait a few minutes.
    • Plug in your console and press the power button to see if your console will turn on.

    I am having an issue with my disc drive my games will just randomly eject by themselves wether I am playing or not playing what should be my 1st step to fix this?

    To me, that sounds like a mechanical issue. If you are able to swap it out with the retailer then I would do that, otherwise, contact Xbox Support, but it sounds like the machine will have to be replaced.
