Disc drive issue

So when i put a game in, it doesn't read it the first time sometimes it makes a slight cracking noise, my xbox ain't a day one edition its just a standard one had it for a year.

My disc drive has recently started to make a strange noise. Whenever I first power up the console or change the disc the disc drive will make an electronic-like humming noise for about 15-30 minutes. This only began a few days ago. it does not seem to effect
any of the console function, but I am worried that it may that something is wrong and it may create a bigger issue if left unattended.

I seem to be having an issue with game discs that I keep in the drive. My problem is that when I play my digital games and then go back to playing the game that is in the disc drive it will ask me if I own if I own this game or app. I have to then eject
the game disc and re insert to get the game to play. Why is this happening? Its as if the console isn't even trying to look at the dvd drive to spin the disc and do its verification check. Whats the point of being able to switch between games if it doesn't
even work for both game discs and digital downloads.

Is there anyone who could shed some light to my issue?

 

I am having the same issue and called xbox to only have been told to have to pay over $100.

That doesnt sit well with me. We have had xbox since it was xbox. Definitely paid more in live membership to possibly have this fee waived. But to no luck they didnt see that. I am very upset and i guess had a higher expectation of xbox one lasting more
then 1 year or 2 years. Apparently this is not the case.

Try the following solutions if none of your discs will play, or if you insert a disc and your console doesn't recognise it. If your Xbox Dashboard tells you to insert a disc when a disc is already inserted, that means it doesn't recognise your disc. In these
scenarios, there are two possible issues:

•The settings for Instant-On power mode can render a small number of consoles unable to read disks.

•The console’s disk drive needs servicing.

Solution 1: If you use Instant-On power mode, change power modes and power cycle the console

Here's how:

1.Go to Settings, and then select Power & startup.

2.On the Power & startup screen, under Power mode, use the down arrow to select Energy-saving.

3.Perform a hard power cycle by holding down the console’s power button for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the power button again to restart it.

4.Try your disk again. Wait a few seconds to see if the console recognises it. If the console can now read the disk, you can revert back to Instant-On power mode.

Failing that, it may need to be serviced unfortunately. Hower try those steps and see how it goes I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Seems like this has worked, but im still having problems with call of duty advanced warfare it doesn't make a small cracking noise just doesn't read call of duty first time.

 

I have the same Issue on My Day One Editon

 

So my games now work as intended except for cod aw the cracking noise i said was happaing was me over reacting to when it has read a disc succesfully and then procedes to play it.
