    Disc drive is about to go and my warranty is up now. Am I ***?


    I've been just dealing with the whole eject the disc and insert the disc until it finally reads it, takes about 10 tries now, for a few months now. So, I thought I should probably check what my warranty is and whether I'm even covered anymore and nope, no
    I'm not. Warranty ran out November 21.. So, am I *** now? Or did they extend it for disc drives like they did for the red ring on the 360?

    Xbox 360 4GB Slim question

    My Xbox disc drive is not reading any disc, and it is now out of warranty.

    So if I had to get a new Xbox, could I use external USB based hard drive(s) instead of using Xbox HDD?

    Help and settle debate.

    I have had the Xbox Slim since 2010. About a week ago halfway through playing Mass Effect 1, my Xbox started giving Disc Unreadable/Unrecognized Disc Errors. This continues with just about all my Mass Effect games 1-3. Unless I install the games, the game
    is pretty much unplayable. Now this error happens to the other games I have like CoD, Battlefield, etc. I have the feeling it is the disc drive failing and have to get the Xbox repaired. My brother thinks I put a Disc Unreadable game, which ruined the disc
    drive. To me that sounds like BS because even if that were true (game messed up) it cannot ruin the disc drive.

    There are times the Xbox would read the games and but most of the time it says Disc Unreadable when its reading or during the game.

    Who is right me or my brother? And how can I fix the disc drive since my xbox is out of warranty.

    Xbox One Disc Drive Failing?

    I am not talking about the standard warranty for repair. I am talking about the specific program they had to replace the consoles with new ones that had the disc drive problems.

    If you got a new Xbox now i would get the one x, but be sure you get any extra warranties and but digital because the bd disc drives are cheap and die quickly. I am on my second xb1 and the disc drive is crapping out already (xbox one x). The games are
    great, xbl is great and i like the game pass, but the physical disc drive is garbage and will most likely for on you after a year or two.

    I got it working. I think its my disc drive, good thing I have a 3 yr warranty. Your rep. didnt know what he was talking about,the xbone is messed up. Thanks for nothing.

    Ahh I see, thanks for the heads up haha.

    I need a good reason to buy an elite controller or chop it all in for an elite console :p.

    My Xbox had the grindy disc drive that takes about 50 inserts to load up a disc but I was too lazy to ring Microsoft in the first year. Ended up using my extended GAME warranty to sort it.

    Never mind. The disc is laser scratched AND no warranty. -_- Microsoft should consider installing a disc lock mechanism into the disc drive because I am tired of loosing these games.
