    Disc drive icon with disc disappears


    I'm on Xbox S X & Alpha SA. Before,the icon for the disc drive with a disc in would always remain in your recent list on the Home screen, mine no longer does. If I use x amount of other apps or digital games it disappears off the list.

    Only way to play the game then is to search for it or find it in My Games & Apps or even having to get off my butt & eject then reinsert the thing ( shocking I know ) . I've never pinned disc games as they've always shown in recents.

    Is this a bug or a 'feature'?

    Everyone else getting it?

    Disc Drive App

    Never has been a disc drive app on the Xbox One platform. There is a notification icon on the dashboard if you have a disc inserted, but this has never been an 'App'.

    If you have to keep removing a disc and re-inserting it to play, there is clearly a hardware fault with the console. If your Blu-ray drive is failing, a 'disc drive app' would make no difference.

    The 1st thing to do is give the discs a clean, and then insert disc 2, as that is the only disc that the Xbox One will give you both the game & DLC. Listen to the console to check if the drive is starting up and reading the disc. If it reads the disc, a new icon tile will show on your console dashboard with a disc icon. Select it, and the game should ask you to update the game, select yes, and install the game. Make sure your console is connected to Xbox Live to do this, as it needs to install the game from the servers.,

    Xbox One X won't load read discs unless I hard reboot if Energy Saver power mode is enabled

    Tried that but it doesn't work until I do a hard shutdown.

    I can hear the disc drive working when I put a disc in. But the game icon never appears and trying to launch the game gives me the "insert disc" error.
