Disc Drive Failure

Hello community. I own a Xbox One. One of the first ugly models. My disc drive stopped reading disc. You can here it moving but never read. Then recently it would just pop up an error without it reading just saying disc error. I replaced the disc drive. New refurbished drive and was told I don’t have to swap boards that it is a Xbox disc drive. Well I get the same error message as soon as I put the disc in. What am I doing wrong or am I missing a update. Everything should be up to date. Firmware I have no clue on. If I can get some help and be able to finally play games I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

Hi,

Have you tried a lens cleaner on your Halo 3 console? If you decide to give a lens cleaner a try don't use an abrasive cleaner, use a cleaning disc with bristles, you be amazed at the amount of dirt that can build up over the years..

There is a cleaning disc called "CleanDr Laser Lens Cleaner" that's specifically for the Xbox 360..

Please try the steps outlined in the Disc Drive Solution guide here. If you're unable to fix the issue
following those steps then it would mean that your console will require a repair if none of your game discs are working at all. Repair and warranty information can be found here.

Microsoft doesn't give you codes for digital versions of games purchases on disc that's simply because a.) not all games are available on digital and b.) digital games have their own separate cost.

It could be that you're having a disc drive failure, and you need to get it repaired.
