Disc drive error

Ok I've been having problems for about 5 months now everytime I change a disk my Xbox doesn't read the new disk and I have to perform a hard power cycle reset I've tried getting a call back but no joys

Apologies for my late reply but i would try to Take your console into a Microsoft retail store near your home and see if they can resolve your issue you may need to send your console in for repairs but i wouldn't recommend it until you contact a Xbox customer
support agent. What i think is that your console may have issues reading your disks either the disks are scratched or that the consoles game reader is defective. Here is the US/Canadian support number 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

Its not just your console error but certainly a LOT of people are complaining about this issue. In some cases a hard reset doesn't work- its very temperamental. I can be playing one game, switch to another and it won't load, power reset doesn't make any
difference, switch back to the game I was playing and it still won't work. It can take ages to get a disc to be recognised. Its certainly not my discs as I keep them all boxed and it happens with BRAND NEW discs too.

I live in the UK and there isn't a Microsoft store/retailer near me. Its not great! Its this generation RROD!!!!

 

After searching the internet and trawling through a few of the hundreds of pages about this issue, I found a fix that 'may' work for you.



It worked first time for me when I tried a brand new disc that wasn't being recognised!
