Disc drive dings and ejects/retracts discs randomly

Now, I know this is Halloween season and all, but this has actually been going on for a long time (pretty much since about a month after I got my launch box). I see a discussion pop up from time to time, but I never see any clear resolution.

My One will randomly ding and eject the disc. That's an issue when it's RIGHTINTHEMIDDLEOFTITANFALL but I can get over that (most of the time, at least, my K/D is in the basement already). It also happens during movies, and even when the console has been
shut off by touching the front of the console. I've reset it, and unplugged it, still keeps doing it. Kinect doesn't seem to make a difference whether it's plugged in or not. Believe me, I've done all the troubleshooting on my end, and it isn't important
enough to the point of asking for a repair.

About an hour ago, I was sitting here studying, and my console dings, dings two more times, then pops out Alien: Isolation, then pulls the disc back in, pushes it back out, dings again, and then stops. I just stared at it for a minute or so to make sure
it had finished its tantrum, but I'm pretty sure it's given up for now. I want to believe that it's the disc wanting to get enough momentum to propel itself through the chest of my One, but other discs have done this too. (Still, I would have been proud
of the little guy for living up to his namesake.)

There's no wind blowing across the console, I have cats but they definitely weren't anywhere near it. The question I have is whether or not this is/will be addressed at some point. I know it's not terribly common, but I also know that it's not unheard
of either. Sure, the buttons are sensitive, but in the middle of a multiplayer match is the worst time to have to explain to your teammates that, "oops, sorry, my disc just EJECTED ITSELF, I know I suck, but not usually that badly, sorry everyone!" Followed,
of course, by the embarrassment and the obligatory teabagging that goes on by the other team now pillaging my dead connection. Yeah, not the best of times.

And you know that part in The Conjuring toward the end, right before they--wait, why did the disc pop out? Turn the lights on, walk over, push it back in, load up the movie, yeah, it was right about here, turn the light back off, etc. Really not convenient.
Not lose-business-worthy by any means, but this is NOT the way to get me to move more toward digital-only content, either. In the meantime, I'm going to go back across the room and take the disc out so one of the cats doesn't brush up against it and cause
some other sort of issue pressing the disc against the drive while it's halfway in or whatever.

So, yeah, when's this going to be fixed again? Thanks. Disc drive dings and ejects/retracts discs randomly :)

    :)

Xbox One randomly ejects disk or turns on.

Ive been having this problem where when the console is on, I will hear the "ding" sound of eject several times. And randomly the disc would eject. Extremely annoying when it happens while im playing a game. For instance I will hear a "ding".... few seconds
later another "ding", a little while later it would eject the disc. Also sometimes it will turn itself on. I would turn off my console, go to work, and a few hours later return home to find it on. Or after turning it off a few minutes later i would hear a
"ding" and it would turn on by itself. Any solutions? Anyone else having the same problem?

  3. Xbox Disc Drive

Does anyone else having issues with the disc drive sticking? Sometimes when we press the eject button to insert/release a game, the disc drive sticks and the Xbox won't open. We have to keep hitting the eject button until finally something catches and the disc bay comes out. We've found that this happens less frequently when we keep a game in the Xbox all the time, but we know this isn't normal. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi there Sashamorning. I admire your patients with the issue you're having, I would of gone a little crazy had my one decided to spit out my disc mid game, but that's me hehe.

Onto the problem. I know you said that it isn't to the point where it would warrant a replacement but I honestly think that's probably the best thing to do. The problem I think is to do with the touch sensor behind the eject button on your console. If this
is faulty or over sensitive it will indeed eject discs randomly without your input. It's up to you at the end of the day but if you would like to get it repaired or replaced please visit the link below to get the ball rolling.

  5. I also would suggest a Repair, may your Buttons are really "over-sensitiv"..

But I imagine that it could be a Cat`s hair which is on the Buttons.

I think you^ve removed all Stickers from day one? may also one of this could affect a touch while a light wind-breeze brings the sticker or the Hair in movement and may it is enough to get a Feedback to the button...

If it is really affecting your gameplay I suggest you a Repair or Exchange as Long your unit is under warranty..

It also may could be that the contact of the cables of the touch button has a failure...

I'd be surprised if it was cat hair, to be honest. It doesn't happen so frequently that I want to sent back my Day One console (is there actually a difference between the Day One and the "not-so-Day One besides the packaging?) and wait for a fix, if it
    is in fact under warranty.

    Thanks for the responses. :-D

Hi Sashamorning. The only difference between the day one addition and 'not so day one' addition is the packaging as you say and the controller. The console itself is identical to the widely available Xbox one in stores today Disc drive dings and ejects/retracts discs randomly :)

Just for your info matey. You have a one year manufacturers warranty from the date of purchase (not sure on American warranties if you are from the US) and as you couldn't have purchased the console before November 22nd your Xbox One is still under warranty
until the 22nd of November this year.

I suggest you to do a Repair, because this is not a common Problem. may your "PowerButton-Sensor" is no well fitted.. maybe it^s going worser in time...

I would repair as Long as you under warranty! this is not a Issue of the Software I think it^s a loose Connection.

Are you shure that you^ve removed all protecting Stickers?

  12. Could be a bug inside. I've have the same problem over multiple repairs. The only thing I can think of is a roach or something. I know bugs can activate touch lamps and such so it's a possibility.
