    Disc drive and disc tray


    We power cycle the console 4 times and cleared persistent storage 4 times and the game still did not launch and the disc would not launch and i was having problems with the tray not opening.... We need to get this resolved ASAP... please

    Sometimes my Xbox One won't read discs.

    It's a problem with the disc drive where it doesn't always drop the disc into the tray and spin it. Hard rebooting fixes the problem, as does continuously insert/eject over and over.

    the xbox one does not have a "disc tray". i am not totally familiar with the new "xbox one s" yet, but i don't think it has one either. they are the slot loading type drives.

    are you perhaps posting about issues you are having with an Xbox 360 console?

    Installed games reading from the disc.

    it will still run from the disc to verify that the disc that was installed to your hard drive or flash drive is inside the disc tray once the system verifies that the disc is in the tray it will play from wherever you had it installed too.

    GoW Judgement Disc Unreadeable

    Try installing the game to your hard drive. With the disc in the tray on the home page of the dash, press X for Game Details then choose Install. You'll still need the disc in the tray but the game will be read from the hard drive instead of the disc drive.

    Games On Demand or Installed from disc???

    There are no difference because both would be stored on the hard drive.

    With Games on Demand, you won't need a disc in the disc tray, whereas with an installed game, you will still need to have the disc in the disc tray.

    OPEN TRAY ERROR. Keep denying it if you wish the dashboard update caused it.
