Disc detection bug

If I hold an Xbox One game disc halfway in the disc drive for a several seconds and then insert the disc, the Xbox One does not detect the disc.

This problem is annoying. I have to eject the disc and reinsert it.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Loud Buzzing/humming sound when Game is in Console...

If it only happens on some games it is probably just a bug where the disc is being accessed all the time. Might be nothing to do with hardware.

Early in the X1 life there was a bug where all disc games had the disc constantly being accessed for some reason. That will make a bit of noise as the drive spins as well as the extra fans when the drive is in use.

 

Game Installation By Disc Fixed On Xbox One?

Have any of the recent updates fixed game installation by disc? Have heard that game installs by disc can be very long if the One is connected to the internet because the console will download the entire game and updates instead of doing the main game install from the disc. Not sure why this was ever an issue because the console should have been able to detect when a disc is inserted and do the game install from the disc. Only updates should have been downloaded.

 

why would you even hold the disc halfway into the Disc Drive in the first place?
