    Disc-based games stuck on the start splash screen


    Hi,

    I had an issue this morning where the game I was about to play froze on the start splash screen until a message appeared saying that for an unknown reason, the game would not start. It was a disc-based game. I tried signing out then in again, removing disc
    and reinserting, and turning the console off then on again. The game still froze on the splash screen.

    I then tried another disc-based game, and still had the same issue as the first game; it froze on the starting splash screen. I decided then to try some digitally downloaded games - these worked fine.

    I then did the ever-popular cold reset ("hold" the power button until the console shut down and then some more, then switching console back on). Lo and behold, I could now play the disc-based games again. Whether a cold reset had cleared up some garbage
    from the One's OS, I can only guess . . . .

    I never thought any more of it until I noticed on the Forza forums that I am not the only one having this happen. Also, one of the mods suggested posting the issue here. Is there an issue with disc-based games when the console is left in quick-start/sleep

    Sorry - forgot to say the error code. The message box telling me the game had failed to load for unknown reason gave an error code of 0x8027025a

    Xbox wont load games

    What exactly happens when the game tries to load?

    Do you get the game's splash screen, and are thrown back to the Start screen?

    If so, please hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds to turn the console off. Unplug the console from the outlet for 30 seconds, then connect the console again and start it.

    Try to launch the game again.

    If that still fails:

    Is the game a disc based game or is it a digital download game? Is it installed on the internal hard drive, or on an external USB hard drive?
