Disappointing overall so far with xbox and Microsoft.

I just setup my xbox one to be exchanged because it is very noisy when its on (loud whirring noise). I elected to use the exchange because repair would take 2 weeks or more and that would not allow me to watch TV since I used the xbox as my hub. (bad idea
I am thinking now)

The exchange would be fine but they charge you 16 dollars for the process and put a hold on your credit card for 400 bucks.

1. I just bought the da*n thing less than 60 days ago and its defective but lets charge you to fix it. (not a lot of money but still ridiculous)

2. I paid 349 for the system but they need a hold of 400 dollars? Really?

3. I cant add my kids to the xbox without an email....fine make them emails....wait it costs 50 cents to verify their age????? W T F

Almost makes me want to return it all together.

That's funny, I changed my mind in the opposite direction. It's still a good and fun game, but the game overall is average to me. For me, the level of destruction(or lack there of) is probably the most disappointing aspect of the game so far.

 

Rate the XboxOne so far

Up until this point the Xbox One is pretty boring. There aren't that many good games out for it and hardly any of my friends are online because they don't own one yet. Overall I have to say I am a little disappointed in my purchase so far as I have yet to see any return on my investment. I also agree with you on how Microsoft tries to constantly jam multimedia down your throat every chance they get. It is really annoying and makes Microsoft look pushy.

 

Just a curiosity question, but are you from overseas? The reason I ask is when I used the advanced replacement program there was no cost at all and only a $1 hold on my CC (basically to verify it was valid, I believe.) I'm curious if the $16 is for shipping
possibly? I've also never been charged to verify ages on an email account. That just sounds odd to me.

Yes it is a shipping charge which is still ridiculous since my unit was defective from purchase and less than 60 days old. I did this direct with Microsoft with directions from xbox live support. I could have done the free option but would have been without
my xbox for over 2 weeks. My entire living room setup goes through the xbox and I am not rewiring it all. The hold clearly states on all their docs its 400 dollars which is more than the price of an xbox now.

I clicked add family on my xbox account and you add emails for your kids. If you want to not enter them as adults (entering birthday) it requires verifying their age and there is a 50 cent charge to go to charity. Not sure how they are verifying age either?
Yes strange.

Needless to say I am turned off so far on the whole Xbox thing.
