    Disappointing Mandatory Initial Update


    I was looking forward to playing my new Xbox one s right out of the box taking advantage of its offline functionality. To my dismay you MUST connect the Xbox to an internet connection to preform initial upgrades even if you plan on playing offline only.
    This is ridiculous. I feel as if I bought a partial or an incomplete product. Why would the manufacturer not ship this product with the newest updates? Or why is it made to be unusable without the most recent updates? I should at least be able to play without
    the update. Microsoft, I had extremely high hopes for your product but was completely disappointed in it.

    Are updates mandatory for Xbox One X?

    There is an initial update that is mandatory. After that update, you can go offline.

    Is that the Console update or game update? If it is the console update it is ok. But is there mandatory update for EVERY game purchased physically?

    Unless the Advanced Exchange they send you is a refurbished brick that doesn't even get past the initial mandatory update.

    There will be multiple updates to the game after the initial download. To my knowledge they aren’t all mandatory to play select game modes.
