    Xbox really disappointing me w/ customer service. I never modded or opened this thing. It's from December last year this is as bad as red ring of death from the 360. I did mangle the manual eject slot because a brand new $60 game was jammed
    and making grinding sounds. This was a really common issue for months now but never have to work so hard on the button. i did not have to open it to wiggle my metal tool, that is exterior damage and did not do any internal damage. The warranty seal is impeccable

    Disappointed with Microsoft Customer Service

    I recently created a new xbox live account for my son and somehow the first part of my email account was assigned as his gamer tag. My other son said that was no big deal as you should have one free change. Of course when we went to make the change we
    were told that it was going to cost 9.99. Now I thought we got one free change especially since during sign up we did not pick the gamer tag. Somehow it pulled part of my email information and assigned that. When contacting customer service they could not
    help and suggested I post here in the hopes that a forum mediator could help. I can't justify paying for a name change when I did not make the first change and should still have a name change remaining.

    You must have accidentally made a portion of his e-mail address the gamertag which would be using the free name change. The gamertags that are automatically generated by Microsoft follow a specific pattern; adjective, noun, random number. Examples would
    be "KindKitten3412" "OverwhelmingWhelp2312" "CuriousFowl2312"

    Hey mate,

    Thats not good to hear at all! Unfortunately there isn't much we can do from here on the forums, so I would suggest maybe giving them a call and discussing it with them directly. I don't think that the sticker is the only way for them to see if the console
    has been tampered with, so perhaps there is something else that has caused them to say that? I'd just call them, tell them all the details, and see what they have to say disappointed with vague customer service response and inaction :)

    This could be why

    Warranty Exclusions

    Microsoft is not responsible and this warranty does not apply if Your Xbox One or Accessory is:
    (a) damaged by use with products not sold or licensed by Microsoft (including, for example, games and accessories not manufactured or licensed by Microsoft, and “pirated” games, etc.);

    (b) used for commercial purposes (including, for example, rental, pay-per-play, etc.);

    (c) opened, modified, or tampered with (including, for example, any attempt to defeat anyXbox One or Accessory technical limitation, security, or anti-piracy mechanism, etc.), or its serial number is altered or removed;

    (d) damaged by any external cause (including, for example, by being dropped, used with inadequate ventilation, etc., or failure to follow instructions in the instruction manual for theXbox One or Accessory);

    (e) scratched, dented, etc. or shows other cosmetic damage; or

    (f) repaired by anyone other than Microsoft.



    Based on the pictures you posted it falls under the highlighted section of the warranty terms. Probably why they wouldnt repair it

    Service Alert

    Same thing for me. Unable to download my profile and get online again after playing this morning. Very disappointing. Even more disappointing is Xbox's response. The service alert updates are just repeated and incorrect. No where near the level of customer
    service that we should be getting for a paid service.
