Disappointed with Elite Controller

I wanted a more configurable, robust controller and the Elite Controller looked like it should've met that simple criteria.

It's configurable that's for sure, it feels robust but it's NOT. Within 4 months I noted the controller left stick was not working as expected. It got worse, so I contacted support.

There is a whole new post on the subject of returns; but let's keep on point here.

The ''replacement" arrived. Once connected it became clear that it is second hand as its name was 'BURT' and when I played COD IW it became clear that the left stick button was not working well. It works, but not all the time which is really rather annoying.

So now I am waiting on MS to contact me with a resolution. As I read the forums it's clear that MS have screwed this peipheral up. It's not robust, far from it and for +£100 it's not a great purchase.

Microsoft need to respond, they need to review the engineering and component selections. They need to make the controller we all want.

For now my advise to anyone is wait. This controller is not worth the money.

X Box One Elite and Holiday Bundles

Planned to buy the Elite as a Christmas present. However, I am disappointed to see that its only available as a bundle with the Elite

controller. I do very little Multi-Player gaming and can't rationalize the high cost of the Elite controller. Has anyone heard when the Elite

will be available with the original X Box One controller or the white one ?.

 

Xbox Elite controllers are faulty.

I'm so disappointed in the elite controller. for a $150 "accessory" to only get 90 a day warranty is absurd... and whats more absurd is the shear lack of quality internals that Microsoft pass off as "elite". I thought I was buying the sports car version
of the xbox one controller... turns out it is more like a Ford Pinto.

 

From my knowledge they don't actually repair controllers but just replace them with a Brand new one. However for the price the elite one is it would be good if they lasted for much longer..Good luck with getting a new one and let's hope it's much stronger.

 

It was my hope too, but given that the controller was called BURT It seems that do swap old for 'reconditioned '. Clearly they don't test them, or if they do it's not done well.

My second one is now winging its way to Germany. Fingers crossed I'll get a good one this time.

MS also need to allow for registering the Elite Controller. This whole process is somewhat flawed given the support process is linked to an X1 that's out of warranty. Really odd!

 

i have had my elite controller going on 2 years and I play it 3 to 5 times a week for 2 - 3 hours per day with no problems. I guess I'm lucky

 

My sons stopped working after 7 months. Microsoft said they don't repair them. Luckily i got it off Amazon who offered a full refund. He replaced it with a standard green/grey pad. Which, btw are £20 more expensive on the MS site.
