    Disappointed about having to be connected to farcry4 server to play the game, off-line


    I am 72 years old, started to play far cry on a PC, then got Xbox 360 and played all the far cries on that, now I have Xbox one and I am playing far cry 4. I am very disappointed why you asked, because I am being forced to sign in to my account in Microsoft.
    The game cannot be played unless you are on line. Yes, I play off-line but you are still on line. The game loads slowly, I have been unable some nights to connect to the far cry server. Sometimes when I get killed in a mission. I cannot get back on because
    the game cannot connect to farcry 4 server which tells me that you must be online in order to play. This may be the last time that I buy the far cry series.

    Is it possible to play offline ?

    I have never played directly on-line but have had this XBox One and Forza connected while single game playing, since day 1

    Then yesterday happened and I have been able to play Horizon2 off-line, yes.

    I disconnected the Ethernet cable, and in the Console's settings menu under networking, turn it to Off-Line. With the hard disc inserted in console.

    Then start game, it will still go thru the steps of trying to connect but the game should start without connecting.

    When reconnecting to internet this morning, the game took for ever to load. It connected to server no problem thou. Had to do a full re-boot and then all was well again.

    XBOX ONE doesnt work out the box

    what *** me off is that there should be some way that you can play this game off line. how many kids were royally disappointed today on Christmas. Had to try and explain to grandkids why Santa brought them a gift that doesn't work.

    Similar problem. I only play in "offline" mode, but it can literally take hours to start a game because of "failure to connect to server".

    Why in hell does it need to connect to a server for OFFLINE mode? Do they know what OFFLINE means?

    I have this game, on Xone but not once I have i been able to play any multiplayer games really frustrating given up trying now

    I can't even play the game because I can not connect to the EA servers....very disappointed

    I am still trying to figure out why it boots me from my off line franchise when I lose connection to the servers. Guess i will have to stay off line.
