Disappearing animals

Anybody have the problam with their penned up animals disappearing? Any tricks what to do so this doesn't happen.

Disappearing animals?

My wife and I were playing Minecraft today, and we had a pen for sheep and cows. Every so often (I think particularly after we slept), several animals would be missing. Everything is fenced in (even double fenced in, because I found out that wolves can attack
sheep through the walls), and there are no blocks adjacent to the fence. There are torches to keep things lit. Any idea what's going on here?

Also, it seems that toward the end of the afternoon, animals in general just seemed to be harder and harder to find until they almost didn't exist anymore. Thoughts?

predators are eating them.

 

Did you hear a strange noise every time they disappear? I had a horse tied up near a small water base, then as I was building it sounded like aliens, I went back and my horse was gone, but the rope used to tie it to the post was still there. I have no clue,
but this might get a close answer.

 

Lost a chicken and some cows. Villagers vanished to.

 

Thought this was addressed in the latest update but I guess not.

 

They can glitch through the corners sometimes, try putting solid blocks there. I usually build a barn and put a fence around the inside of it, never have problems. Others dig down a few blocks and sink their area so the landscape itself is a huge wall.
