  1. Disabling the Windows 10 overlays at top and bottom of fullscreen game

    Hi,

whenever I run AoEDisabling the Windows 10 overlays at top and bottom of fullscreen game :DE in fullscreen mode (windows 10 x64), there are those two little "button" surfaces at the top and the bottom of the screen, as soon as i hover over the edges of the screen.

Is there a way to disable the two buttons? The buttons will take you either back to the desktop (minimize the game) or call up the taskbar (bottom one) but this is extremely annoying when you scroll by taking your mouse to the edges...

Could somebody help me please? Disabling the buttons would be great...

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Fall Creators Update: Game Bar support for full-screen mode

In the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, we now support fullscreen optimizations for most applications and games. The feature allows users to more quickly switch (alt-tab) from fullscreen games to other applications and allows games
to use more efficient graphics presentation modes, which can help increase graphics performance. With fullscreen optimizations enabled, you’ll see several other improvements as well: displaying overlays on top of your games, such as the volume slider; preserving
color changes made in software such as Night Light mode; preserving changes made in the “Calibrate display color” wizard; and others types of color changes.

If you need to disable fullscreen optimizations, it is possible to do so on a per-application basis by right-clicking on an executable file > Properties > Compatibility tab > toggling the "Disable fullscreen optimizations" checkbox.

Note that fullscreen optimizations requires graphics drivers to be WDDM 2.0 or greater. To confirm that you have a WDDM2.0 driver, hit Win+R, type “dxdiag”, and then on the Display tab look for the Driver Model listed on the right.

If you experience any issues which are solved by disabling fullscreen optimizations, please use the Feedback Hub to report them. We want to deliver a great gaming experience on Windows for everyone and we appreciate your feedback.
If you follow the steps below it will make sure that any feedback you submit has performance information included so we can more easily investigate.

    1. Go to
    http://aka.ms/submitgameperformancefeedback
, which will open the feedback hub to the correct location for collecting performance logs

    2. Select Add new feedback, mark it as a Problem (important).

    3. Provide any further information about the issue in the details section.

    4. Launch your game and get to the issue area.

    5. Click the "Start capture" button.

    6. Reproduce the problem for 10-15 seconds. Make sure to stop capturing promptly so that the last 30 seconds of the capture clearly demonstrate the problem.

    7. Provide any further information about the issue and the captured logs (i.e. first half shows X, second half shows Y) in the details section.

    8. Click the "Stop capture" button.

    9. Click the "Submit" button to send the bug to us.

None of my games use Fullscreen Optimizations in Windows 10

    Hi,

What games are crashing? Some, or all of them?

Games from the Windows Store (or Game Pass) either have Fullscreen Optimization enabled by default or run in Windowed Borderless mode which shouldn't cause games to crash when attempting to ALT+TAB.

You can check whether Fullscreen Optimizations are enabled or not by opening the Xbox Game Bar via Win+G. If you are running in Fullscreen Exclusive, then the display brightness may be flicker. If you are in Fullscreen Optimizations, the Xbox Game Bar should pop up as an overlay.

Sounds more like a graphics driver issue to me.

Windows Apps can not have Fullscreen Optimization disabled as it's not possible to access their exe file to disable them.

Metro Exodus crashes on launch on Windows 10 Xbox

I disabled both the Nvidia overlay and the Xbox Game Bar, and all seems to be working now. It seems that when you take game out of Fullscreen, it crashes.

xbox game bar captured video doesn't show application's icon

the logo might be an overlay from the program, the xbox gamebar will only capture the window or fullscreen application. it does not capture overlays all the time.

xbox录制不工作 [Translate] Xbox recording does not work

I do not know this error Code but if you're running the game in fullscreen mode, switching to windowed/borderless windowed mode may help. If it's a steam game, I would also recommend turning off their overlay.

Check also Troubleshooting Xbox Game DVR.
