    Disable Xbox Controller Buttons…Again as a default function


    When will Microsoft re-introduce the ability to disable (completely) a button press (not switch or swap) on anything other than elite controller?

    This used to be a standard function in the controller/accessory setup. I went back to the last time I asked this question ( a little over year ago which is now locked) and the same question has been asked 24 times in response to my request. This excludes other direct questions asking for the same thing!

    Before suggesting I submit this to the Reddit Xbox request page, I’ve done that as well. Multiple times and still nothing.

    If this is a way to force players to use a more expensive controller fine! But offer the function to people that have spent money on a more expensive controller like the razor tournament edition, or the thrustmaster Eswap S controller both of which I own because I got tired of returning my elite v2 controllers (I’ve owned 1 elite v1 and 3 elite v2), because of stick drift, and the A button sticking. I’ll happily send the SN from my other pro controllers, which are authorized Microsoft products.

    I’m a lifelong Xboxer. I was a wave 2 Xbox live beta tester, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One Kinect, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, current Xbox series X and S system owner. In the 20 years since the beta tester I’ve never had a lapse in my service. I don’t get to play as much as I used to, (adulting sucks). So when I actually get time to game, I’d rather enjoy that time instead of getting frustrated by accidental clicking my right stick that puts me into a melee action during the middle of a gunfight, causing me to lose it.

    Yes, I know I can swap right stick click with the B button, swapping melee and duck but that’s not the point. The whole reason I bought a pro controller was to be able to reconfigure it how I want. I want to disable the right stick click which as I mentioned (and the independent advisor who replied to my question a year ago also said was true) used to be a standard setting in the controller setup.
