Disable auto updates for games downloaded through Game Pass for PC

As far as I know, there isn't an option to turn off automatic updates at the moment

All games available through the Xbox Game Pass for PC are installed from the Microsoft Store app on Windows. The Xbox (Beta) app is just an extension of the Microsoft Store to easily launch and manage your games that you get from the subscription among other
Xbox Live features. The Xbox (Beta) app does not need to be running for updates to occur automatically because the updates initiate from the Microsoft Store which is always running in the background when you boot up your PC.

You can disable auto updates to games and apps in the Microsoft Store through the Store's settings.

1. Select the Start screen, then select Microsoft Store.
2. In Microsoft Store at the upper right, select the account menu (the three dots) and then select Settings.
3. Under App updates, set Update apps automatically to
   Off.

You can also manually pause or cancel updates if they do start through the download queue in the Microsoft Store. To get to the queue select the account menu (the three dots)
> Downloads and updates.

That's really odd. Usually the settings that you have are the correct in order to disable automatic updates.

May I know if you're using an insider build of similar in your Windows system?

If not, please try this (first, enable automatic updates inside Microsoft Store)

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

Now, sign out from your account on both Xbox app and Microsoft Store and do this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

**You can double check here if background is still in Never and Runs at login as well

Finally do this:

Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

Sign in again on both Microsoft store and Xbox app with your account and disable automatic updates again
