Dirty, dirty tricks (What not to do)

Dirty, dirty tricks which should never be employed:

1. The ram. The obvious smash into the rear of your competitor as to suddenly slow you down for the turn but also push them off the road.

2. The apex assistance program. Take a really aggressive inside line and rather than letting centrifugal force take you off the road you use the inside of your competitors car to help you hold the line while forcing him to the outside of the curve and off
into the grass.

3. The pit maneuver. And if ya don't know, I ain't gonna tell ya.

4. The brake check. So, your competitor is approaching from behind and is probably gonna pass you but you get in front then suddenly hit the brakes to cause them to either make an evasive maneuver which could result in a loss of control or they hit you and
damage the front of their car.

5. The big boy force off. Pulling adjacent to your competitor who's in a lighter car and forcing them off the road.

6. The sandwich. Getting beside a car which is beside another car and then pushing into them as to sandwich their vehicle.

Please do add to this list of no-no's.

Another question from that same worried gamer from before.

I believe disc drive lens is dirty at touch of a micro fiber cloth plus 100% alcohol should do the trick.

 

Driving in the opposite direction of the race on a track. Don't be a....

 

I was still thinking in terms of being competitive so I totally overlooked that one. Nice call.

 

In terms of competitive...

Don't backtrack before the starting line on track day events. Yes, you can do this without penalty and get a nice running start to your lap - but don't. It's unsportsmanlike!

 

Don't go into a road raging fit if someone does any of the above by accident. Some people just aren't that good at videogames, or maybe they just misjudged what they were doing, and it is a videogame, not real life, after all.

By all means encourage fair play, it is a race not a demolition derby after all, but I think some common sense and level headedness is in order also.

 

That's all you see online, so I prefer to play in the no collisions lobby where I can at least use skill to win. Now don't get me wrong, I know it takes away from the realism of the game, but there is only so much wondering when the next corner is going
to put youout of the entire race. Sure at times it can be somewhat exciting trying to survive the mayhem, but that's only if you're in the mood for that.

All too often you see friends in the lobby that will deliberately take everyone out for their mate like this one time I was hot on this guys heels in 2nd and was looking in great shape to take him with a couple corners to go before the finish line, only
to have his mate that was waiting for people to knockout near the end... I wasn't impressed.
