I hope whatever Microsoft has planned really helps the Xbox One, so that people can stop bashing the system and go back to enjoying their games.

All the trolls keep saying that the Xbox GPU couldn't be DX12 compatible, but my question has always been "How do you know?". MS has never released the actual specs of the GPU in the ONE. Tear down sites and such have speculated based on the TFLOP rating
that was listed, but the actual specs have never been revealed. People seem to forget this isn't a PC graphics card, it is a CUSTOM GPU, and has 15 co-processors on the motherboard, most of which are not being used yet.

 

MS make the X1 they also make DX. The Xboxone Is DX12 ready. Remember its a dev kit itself. @cati is right on, the Gpu specs have never been shown. It's only been speculated on a very early leak and because of the 3rd party disparity. As I've said before
this whole resolution/power thing will be a thing if the past by the end of this year and a lot of surprised people.

For all the nay sayers, ask yourself why Microsoft would spend 300m for r&d on an amd custom chip?!?

Minor, no way. The X1 is a fully custom design and even though consoles get optimized to make the most of their hardware outdated or not there are always missed/wasted cycles in game code. DX12 and its tools was developed to get the most out of the Xboxone
for many years to come. Remember " built for the next 10 years" the hardware in the X1 is not inferior in anyway. We are about to find out why.

It's time people start listening to what MS have said and what Penello have said in regards to what X1 can do.

 

I never doubted the Xbox One's power, I just wanted a number so I could see the extent of the improvements.

 

Looking at numbers doesn't tell the story and it still won't in regards to X1.

 

Getting games to run in 1080p on the xbox one is one thing but getting smooth playback at native 4k resolutions doesn't seem possible.
