    for over a week now, when I turn on my X1, which then turns on my directv box and my tv, has been saying tv signal has been lost.

    i thought maybe it was the hdmi cable, but I replaced it.

    I have tried resetting the x1, disconnecting power, changing resolutions, changing display outputs, surround sound, etc.. All the other suggestions that the Internet has to offer With no luck.

    What I have to do is turn off the directv genie box and turn it back on and it comes right on.

    this all of a sudden has started happing. Never had this problem since I have had the x1 and that's been since it came out.

    looks like there was an update on the 29th of May, probably about the time it started but can't be sure.

    can anyone confirm or help.

    Hello Am New!

    MarvelHero, can you explain the TV part of your statement to me? You have directv, so do I, how does sending the signal from the dvr through the X1 before going to the TV set make anything better? I'm just wondering what the X1 adds to the equation.

    I HAD THE XBOX ONE HOOKED UP TO THE DIRECTV GENIE DVR FOR 2 WEEKS AND ALLIT DOES IS SAY WE"VE DETECTED A SIGNAL FROM YOUR CABLE OR SATELLITE BOX OR WE"VE LOST YOUR TV SIGNAL AND WHEN I TRY AND WATCH LIVE TV IT JUST A BLACK SCREEN BUT THE ONEGUIDE HAS ALL
    THE CHANELS VISIBLE. SO EARLIER I DECIDED TO HOOK UP THE XBOX ONE IN ANOTHER ROOM ON THE DIRECTV MINI BOX AND EVERYTHING WORKED PERFECTLY PICTURE CAME IN BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYTHING WORKED SO IM JUST CONFUSED

    Hey there Kicska!

    Since this began have you by chance tried running through the initial TV setup on your console to see if there's any change with that? Also, do you possibly have a different cable box in your home you can test to see if the issue continues with that?

  5. I have gone thru the tv setup, and it detects the tv and cable box no problem.

    I have also tried leaving the directv box on and turning the xbox off and when i turn it back on it again says it lost connection.

    As soon as i press the off button on the directv and then back on, the xbox gets the signal.

    Anything else?

  6. Confirmed. I have the exact same problem with a Cisco cable box. Exact same timing (last major system update).

    I can tell you, I have tried many of the suggested troubleshooting articles, including resetting to default and even reapplying the update offline. So I can save you that effort as it doesn't fix the problem.

    Basically, after the update, the xbox has to be fully awake before the cable box is powered on in order for it to detect the signal. I have not found a solution yet.

    Just to check, are either of you taking part in the Xbox One Update preview by chance?

    For issues with specific cable boxes you can submit feedback via the TV App, that way the appropriate teams know of the issue you're experiencing.

  10. That's the first I've heard of a preview, so I assume I'm not part of it.

    To clarify, this problem did not occur prior to the system update in question, even with the same cable box. After the update, the cable box is still turned on/off by the xbox one without error. The problem seems to be timing.

    Do you mean I should submit this same error report to one or more other locations in these forums? Just checking to confirm prior to doing that...

  11. Re-reading the OP, not sure how I missed the date mentioned, but the update that caused my problem was the new xbox one experience, which was several months earlier than when the OP's problem started occurring.

  15. I've experienced the same issue with my DirecTV Genie. In my case, sometimes it works fine on startup, but more often than not I have to cycle the power on the DirecTV box.

    My issues started in the same time frame as Kicska's, so I believe it was caused by the May or June update. Hopefully, this will get fixed soon.
