DirecTV genie + Xbox One = HD resolution randomly lost when watching DVR'd content

The last month or so I can't properly watch any TV including DVR items on the Xbox One.

If I watch a DVR'd show, randomly:

• after fast forward/rewind, the resolution will switch from an HD feed to 480P
  
• It will affect all TV functionality, including Live TV
• I will have to hard reboot Xbox One and/or DirecT genie
• This will fix it for a random time, it could break HD resolution the first time fast forwarding or I could make it through the whole show and hit stop to delete the show before HD stops working again
  

Seems like some sort of HDMI handshake issue. If I go to genie settings after issue occurs, it says that my TV does not support anything but 480P which is definitely wrong. If I go to Home, the Xbox dashboard is all in HD.

Anyone else have this issue? or solutions?

Xbox One Directv resolution issue.

When I connect my DirecTV Genie box through my Xbox One it comes through as 480p. When I try to manually switch the resolution the screen on the Xbox One automatically goes black. Are there any solutions too this problem?

I'm having the same issue. I'm not sure that it's just with DVR'd shows, but FF/RW randomly switches to 480p and tells me my TV doesn't support the other resolutions...despite the fact that it was just playing in HD! Red resetting the Genie mini brings HD
back but the problem always comes back eventually. To test it I plugged the Genie mini directly into my TVs HDMI instead of the Xbox and the issue disappeared. So it's definitely an issue between the Xbox One and the Genie. Hoping for a fix for this because
it's irritating to have to either a) keep resetting, b) live with the degraded picture, or c) not run the Genie through the Xbox, which means no easy switching between TV and gaming, etc. I tried the Directv forum but found no solution there. PLEASE HELP!

 

Same problem the last month or so. Very frustrating.

 

Any resolution to this? The TV app using the genie randomly downgrades from 1080p to 480p. I can't figure out why it's doing it and a hard reboot or unplugging the HDMI cord and back in seems to fix it. It occurs randomly.

 

Yeah it still happens to me as well.

 

After talking to Direct TV (who blamed xbox) and talking with xbox (who had no clue), I tried some various fixes proposed by the two support people. none worked, so I ran Directv directly to a different input on the tv. problem fixed. BUT no Kinect recognition
for tv, no instant on for tv, back to Harmony remote to run sound system....sucks pretty much. PQ got somewhat better. Maybe the S wont have this problem.

Having the same issue. Weird thing is if I bring up the Menu/Display/TV Resolutions screen on the DirecTV genie, even though 480p is the only option that doesn't say "TV doesn't support" I can still flick the channel down button on the remote & check 1080i
which helps. Ridiculous to have to do this all the time though.

 

Hey all, to clarify, does this only occur when watching DVR content or does it happen when watching anything regularly scheduled content?

Keep in mind that OneGuide is designed for use with live TV currently and other features on your Xbox may need to be controlled through the device directly. If you haven't already make sure to report a OneGuide issue in-app.

 

It still happens to me during live TV or DVR playback. If I rewind or fast forward a show all of a sudden the resolution shrinks down to 480. It doesn't happen everytime though. I've tried to change resolution when it happens but my DTV receiver saysy
TV doesn't support the resolution. It's a 1080p TV. I do notice the output signal from DTV is 1080i. Does the x1 support 1080i?
