Directinput on Windows 10?

Discus and support Directinput on Windows 10? in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Since latest windows update for xbox one controller on 29th february directinput is not usable anymore by anyone with this controller in directinput...     Since latest windows update for xbox one controller on 29th february directinput is not usable anymore by anyone with this controller in directinput games. Xinput works fine and directinput works fine if you use xbox 360 controller. I would like to know
    if there is any fix for this? I do not seem to be able to choose rollback driver or update the driver.

    Hello.

    I recently buy an xbox one controller for windows, and it was ok so far. I love it

    But the moment I tried to play pes 2016, with another controller, not Microsoft, just a 3d party controller.

    I came across with a significant issue. directinput and xinput.

    If the option is on xinput the controller works perfectly but recognizes, ONLY the xbox one.

    If I turn it, on directinput, work both, but there is no way that you can adjust the xbox controller, which is a mess.

    SO, is there any solution for that, cause I was felt disgraced. If yes, I would be glad to hear it.

    If not, I want to take my money back somehow.

    I'm supporting you as I can. I've windows 10, I've lumia 930, I will continue to support you,and that was my first xbox controller purchase.

    but this? This was a shame.

  3. XBox One Wireless Adapter Driver Issues (Win 8.1)

    I have been testing out the new XBox One Wireless Adapter now that 8.1 compatibility has been added and I've noticed a few things after a few hours of testing:

    - Upon initially installing the driver from Device Manager the controller registered as a DirectInput device in the Control Panel's 'Set up USB game controllers' window - however the 'Controller (Xbox One For Windows)' properties window was titled 'Logitech'
    something or other (can't remember exactly) and DirectInput from the controller was non-functional -- deleting and reinstalling the driver fixed this.

    - After connecting and disconnecting 360 controllers (via 360 Wireless Adapter) and Xbox One Controllers (via the Xbox One Wireless Adapter) several times the Xbox One adapter occasionally (twice so far in about 2 hours) stops providing input completely
    (XInput test application shows no connection) -- this was fixed by deleting and reinstalling the driver.

    - When using the controller with Final Fantasy XIII (a DirectInput game) at the initial in-game menu, selecting 'New Game' and then 'Easy' or 'Normal' will bring up a prompt to continue -- at this point the game stops responding to either the controller
    or the keyboard (although it continues to run) and must exited -- the same behavior happens when selecting 'Load Game' or after selecting an interactive object in-game (which can only be reached by using the keyboard to load the game before touching any controller
    buttons). This behavior is not reproducible with either a 360 controller or other DirectInput controllers and thus appears to be a driver issue with the Xbox One adapter.

    I was mostly hoping to report these issues so they can be addressed but I would also like to know -- is there any plan to allow non-Windows 10 users to upgrade the controller Firmware, or is that capability being kept exclusive to the windows 10 app?

    I agree, but the problem is that even this remapping is limited to the available buttons that are seen on a standard controller, this is not extensible at this time. The Elite controller features back buttons, but they can only be remapped to standard functions, the limitation is placed by the current XInput software, not by the hardware manufacturers, so a software limitation is imposed on developers. Xinput was designed to replace DirectInput, but the feature set is seriously short.

    DirectInput - Older API - 8 Axis, 128 Buttons + POV

    Xinput - Newer API 4 Axis, 10 Buttons, 2 Triggers + POV

    This is why PC games favour DirectInput over Xinput, but Xbox platform only supports Xinput at this time.

    For your controller to work in Cloud streaming it needs to be in Xinput mode.

    As per this note on the Power A Support page:

    "MOGA controllers support two types of input modes: XInput and DirectInput.

    If initial wired connection is unsuccessful, switch modes by pressing Start + Select for three seconds. Three LED flashes indicate mode was changed and retained in memory. Repeat process to switch back. XP5-A Plus default input mode is DirectInput, but also supports XInput."

    I've read all previous posts.

    I've the same problem with a brand new PowerA Moga Xp5-x controller that is shown on Microsoft Support official site as fully compatible to a Windows PC with both wireless and wired connection.

    If connected with USB it's working ONLY if the controller is set to Xinput mode and not the DirectInput factory default mode.

    But there is no way to have it recognized by the Xbox Cloud games if connected with Bluetooth.

    I've drop a request to PowerA support and they say that Bluetooth connection only support DirectInput mode that it's not compatible with Windows PC.... so the claimed compliance it's not true!!

    After some research I've found a simple and fully functional solution using a Xbox Controller Xinput emulator that is a simple EXE file that don't need any installation.

    It's working very well and, as a plus, let you reassign the buttons as you want.
