    Hello,

    Recently i have been experiencing a dim screen upon normal start up of the X1. I initially thought that my external Hd was causing the sytem to go into Sleep mode when i powered down for the night, but even after i unplugged my External HD the xbox acts
    in the same manner.

    I can not wake it when i power on no matter what i try ( i believe i tried everything ) to wake it. It seems the only way to get it to wake is if i shut down and restart the system again.

    The only other remedy to it was to place the X1 in full power down mode ( energy saver ) which when i do that it starts up normal but takes a wee bit longer than usual.

    Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Screen Dim on Startup after August Update

    I too am having the same issue. Dim screen upon start up. After a reboot its fine.

    Screen dims while watching tv

    I have a day one edition xbox with kinect, and lately the screen will randomly dim. It dims the same, as when you give a voice command, but no kinect listening prompt comes on the screen. It darkens to where you almost can't see the picture anymore. To
    un dim, I actually will say "hey cortana" and then it will un dim and bring up the listening prompt. Anyone else having this issue? I have hard restarted and re calibrated the kinect, but it seems like a software issue.

    Hi there, If you have the time for reply it would be great to know if you are currently a member of the Xbox preview program?

    Regardless, here are some basic steps you can try to remedy your problem. ..

    Hold the power button down until your console shuts off.

    Unplug power and HDMI

    Wait 5 minutes

    reconnect and reboot
