Dim bright white light on Xbox One controller?

I use my Xbox at night mostly and usually turn the lights off to reduce glare. The bright white light on the Xbox One controller just kills my night vision and is distracting. Has anyone found a way to dim or disable it? It seems kindof silly to put a
piece of duck tape or electrical tape on a 50 dollar controller

Congrats microsoft you developed a good way to break your controllers

To tell when the battery is dying: if the light is dim charge it, if it's bright white it's charged

Xbox power light dimming?

Seems to change based on the light in the room. Kinda like when your phone screen dims. Dark room = dim Xbox logos on the system, Kinect and controller, bright room = bright light.

I used the open end of a Sharpie lid, (because its exactly the same size of the Xbox button) to draw a circle out on some thick black paper and super glued it to the button itself. It took a while to find a piece of something that wouldn’t tear easily, but
i ended up using a tag that came on some clothing.

unfortunately at this time I have not found a way to actually disable the light indicator, And im fairly certain there isnt a way to actually do so, Sorry bud

I know the Xbox One Elite Controller has this feature. It can be done within the Xbox Accessories App.

So I am sure they could implement it to work with normal controllers.

It can be quite annoying for sure so I just stick a piece of black electrical tape over it.

Try the Xbox settings in the Xbox Accessories application and there is anything to do with the driver, just do not know if it's on the standard driver or just on ELITE,

so we have to pay x3 more for the elite and lose bluetooth, its not enough to sell a 50$ gadget with no included rechargeable batteries in 2018, you also need to annoy the user with a light on their face for another 100$

This would be a cool feature, I play in the dark sometimes and the Xbox button just shines right in my peripheral vision.

Should be a red light, can be dim or bright. Use a piece of white paper to clearly see it.
