Digitally downloaded games asking "Do you own disc or app?"

Recently ALL of my digitally downloaded games from the playstore have refused to play, they all ask if I own the game or app. I am using the same account I've always played them with, and have a current Xbox Box Live Gold membership.

The games that I have been having problems with are Rocket League, Call of Duty: WWII, and Forza 5. All of these were free downloads at the time I downloaded them.

I have soft reset, hard reset, and factory reset. I tried to uninstall them reinstall WWII, but it is now demanding I pay for a reinstall (plus the loss of 60 gigs of installing time).

I'm really frustrated, and I don't think I'm ever going to waste my time with a downloaded game again if I can't seem to get this fixed.

Can't download my digital copy of rocket league on second Xbox?

To clarify, how do you own the game? Digitally or via a Disc? If you own the game digitally on your account you should be able to redownload the game from the Ready to Install section on the console.

Trouble installing game

How did you obtain the game exactly? Was this a disc based game or digitally downloaded? If it was digitally downloaded, where did you purchase it from?

Try powercycling the console by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

Retry afterwards.

If that doesn't work, remove the profile from your console and redownload it again.

To install and play a game you own on Disc (even backwards compatible games on Xbox one) you need to insert the disc, install it and have it in the console the whole time you want to play it.

This is different if you own the game digitally (not on disc).

If you are talking about the game you own on disc but don't have, you will have to get the disc and insert it to play. There's no remote installing if you don't have the disc in and if you don't own the digital copy.

If you own the game digitally and it's backwards compatible (or an Xbox one game) please go to My Games and Apps > Ready to Install and find your game and install it.

If you own the game digitally on Xbox 360 please go to Settings > Account > Download history and download the game again.

If you own the game like you say you do and if it's the digital downloaded version, then you should be able to find it in my games and apps under the all owned games section of Full Library. Just select the game and start the installation. If you have the disc, then insert the disc, and start the installation.

May I ask you do you own the game digitally or on a disc?

Depending on the game's availability, you should be able to download it from the Microsoft Store even if you don't own it digitally. You just need to insert your disc, cancel the disc installation and look for your game in the store (It needs to match your disc's edition), your console should detect the disc's license and allow you to download it from the Microsoft Store instead.

*Please do keep in mind that even if you download them from the store, you will still need their discs in order to play them.

Also, may I ask what happened when you tried to download them from the Xbox mobile app?
