Digitally Download Install

I'm fairly new to the XB1 and I'm still trying ti figure out if I can put my XB1 in a sort of standby mode get my game installed, the game is digital so I'm not sure if that effects it or not. So if someone could give me a solution to this that'd be great.

Good thing people are buying PS4 for games only.

I wonder why you have to delete disc install info in order to purchase digitally. Albert Penello said this won't be the case for Xbox One. If you borrow/rent a game & install it, you can then purchase it digitally w/o having to download it.

Lack of digital games

I think they don't really do pre-orders for digital since you can purchase and download them digitally day one and they don't do pre-installs.

Hi there, Jim! If you're asking if your Xbox will install games and updates while your console is powered down, the answer is YES! To do that, your console will need to be in "Instant On" mode instead of "Energy Saver" which puts the console fully to
sleep (off) instead of standby.

To turn this mode on, you will need to press Menu on your controller, then go to Settings --> Power & Startup. Under "Power Options," you can choose "Instant On" mode, which will allow your console to check for updates while powered down.

Also, in this same Settings menu, you should see a box or option for "Automatically download updates." Make sure this is selected, and all should be well!

In this "Instant On" mode, when you install a game remotely (via Smartglass or Xbox.com) your console will wake up and begin installing the item you've chosen to download. Also, if you begin to install a digital download, but turn off your console before
it is finished, the Xbox will continue to install that title, then fully power down when the install is complete.

Whats people opinion on these game install times.

Assassins Creed Unity Digital Download took 1hr 23mins to install to 100%. Since Unity is a Digital Download will that included the latest patch or will that prompt to install once I run the Game.

Assassins Creed 4 Digital Download took 48mins to install to 100%.

So I take it these games install while downloading at the same time. I thought I would be download the files then it would extract them to install, similar to demos on the PS3.

Dead Rising 3 Blu-Ray Disc install took 26mins to install.

BC games do not install from the disc, but are downloaded digitally from the store.

Is this a disc or previous digital download for the 360?

What happens exactly when you try to install the games? Are these installing from disc? Are these digital downloads you are trying to install? If they are digital, were they purchased with the account you are trying to use? If they are digital, are they
already downloaded but won't install? What error messages are you receiving?

To say that we need more information from you would be an understatement!

You'll need to delete the installation file from the hard drive, then the option to 'Play Now' will be replaced with 'Download'.

The installation files from installing a disc and downloading digitally are different anyway on Xbox 360, so you will need to download a separate file in any case and cannot use the installation file from disc to play the digitally-bought game.
