    Digital Version of Minecraft for Xbox One


    My son got an Xbox One with Minecraft late November, 2016. I created an account for me (as his parent) and an account for him. I incorrectly installed the game when logged in as me. He now tells me he has to log in as me to play the game online. Is there
    any way I can transfer the game (it is the same console) to his account. At the very least is there any way he can play the game online with his mates when logged in as himself.

    I hope Microsoft don't mind me saying but the whole digital game set up is rather confusing. I have been used to the PS3 and PS4 and the way they go about things seems much simpler.

    DLC not transfered over from old to new Minecraft Xbox successfully

    I have a problem with the DLC transfering between the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and Minecraft (new). As Mojang said your DLC from the Old Minecraft should transfer over to the new Minecraft. That worked for all my DLC but the DLC that was included in the
    Minecraft: Xbox One Favarites Edition (That’s the Version I own). It just didn’t transfered over to the new Minecraft.

    Information (if needed to help me:

    Console: Xbox One S

    Old Mineraft: Digital Version of the Minecraft: Xbox One Favorites Edition

    New Minecraft: Digital Version of the Game Minecraft (I was not in the Beta)

    If you already own a digital copy of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition then the new Minecraft version will be available automatically within My games & apps on your console. To install, go to
    My games & apps and look for Minecraft under Ready to install.

    If you own the disc version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and you have played for at least 5 hours or purchased an item between September 2016 and September 2017, you will also receive a digital copy of
    Minecraft under Ready to install. This offer was valid until January 31, 2018, after which time you will need to purchase a digital version of Minecraft.

    Nothing can be transferred between accounts, but if you set the console as your Home console, he can access the game without your account being signed in.

    Did you buy the physical disc version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition? Or did you buy the digital download version?

    If you have bought the digital download version, simply download the "Minecraft" without the "Xbox One Edition" from the Xbox Marketplace for free.

    If you have bought the physical disc version of the game, your only option is to buy the Minecraft version without the "Xbox One Edition" in the title to be able to get the Aquatic update as well as the Cats and Pandas update.

    The code you mean was for people that bought JAVA Minecraft on the Mojang website before October 2018. Buyers of the JAVA Version before that date would get a code that allows them to redeem Minecraft Windows 10 on the Windows 10 Store.

    Unfortunately, buyers of the Xbox One Minecraft "only" get the Xbox One Minecraft and nothing else. Only digital buyers of the older "Minecraft Xbox One Version" (With "Xbox One Version" in the game title) would later get the newer Bedrock Minecraft for
    Xbox One for free.

    So, if you bought Minecraft (without the "Xbox One Version" in the name) on your Xbox One, that's the only version you will get. There is no Windows 10 code.

    This offer is only valid, if you have the digital DOWNLOAD version of Minecraft Xbox One Edition. And it only works if you get Minecraft with the SAME account, that owns the digital download version of the Xbox One Edition.

    If you have the disc version of Minecraft Xbox One Edition, the offer to get Minecraft for free required you to have played the game for 5 hours in the last 12 months before January 30th 2018. However, the period to get the game for free ended on February
    1st 2018. So if you have the disc version of the game, and didn't make the transition to the "Better Togehter Update" before February 1st, you're out of luck and need to buy Minecraft again.
