Digital v physical media

it depends. some games I can find cheaper new or used in physical (looking at you, madden 2015) than digital. im semi in both fences on this issue. so far I only have 1 physical game (granted its "used" and overpriced by gamestops pricing anyway) and that's
shadow of mordor. sunset overdrive, ryse are digital downloads.

 

I will go with discs as long as possible. If the next Xbox doesn`t support discs, I will probably switch to PC.

Digital may be the future but nothing beats the feeling of driving home, looking at the back of the game at every stop light, getting home, unwrapping and getting that new game smell......sigh....nothing!

 

someone please help. I have a quick question.

I have the license for a digital copy of a game but I had to uninstall the game and download it again due to a problem with the game. my internet is pretty slow and it'll take forever to download 47g's. would I be able to borrow my friends physical game
and install it but use my digital license to play the game? so I don't have to wait a bajillion years to download the game LOL

LoL one of the dumbest thing ive ever read. PC games have been digital for years. Buying a disc for a PC game may save you some downloading but ultimately you are just buying a key. Good luck trading that in.

 

im still in the hybrid stage where i have some of both - I bought MC and CoDAW as digital and have destiny as Disk - the 3 main games i'll be playing up until 'the division' and i'll never have to remove destiny from the drive, good times

 

Not dumb at all. Look at the pricing difference on digital PC games vs digital console games. On average you are looking at £10 difference.

A Dragon Age: Inquisition download key for example can be bought for as little as £26.99. Good luck finding it for that price digitally on the consoles.

 

I'm torn on this subject.

On one hand I like the ease of jumping from game to game via UI, but on the other hand, once I'm done with a game, I'm usually done for good.

Trading and getting something back in return is better than nothing, I guess.

 

^ I agree Puma, that's why i hybrid - i'll keep games i love and therefore download digital copies - Games i don't want once played (wolfenstein/watch dogs being prime examples) i trade in and get money towards the next game.

Do i need the money? not at all, but why have something that i neither need nor want anymore just laying around?

 

@ iBakez - this is my dilemma with Dragon Age Inquisition. I play Bioware games to death, with multiple playthroughs. But at some point, I will have had enough to call it quits. So part of me thinks I should buy a disc. But at the same time, the co-op
is a real wild card. It looks like it could be pretty awesome, and I'm sure they'll release more worlds to play over time. If that's the case, then I should probably just get the digital copy (with 10% off for having the EA Access pass). I really enjoyed
the Mass Effect 3 coop stuff, and it kept me playing long after I finished the game a few times.
