Well, on xbox one you still have to download the games even if you buy the physical copy. Xbox Live Rewards is also a really good reason to go digital as you get money back to spend on more games! I also enjoy being able to switch between games in a split
    second.

    :)

    Loaned Game Thoughts

Physical media isn't going away. The amount of adopters of digital media are small compared to those of us who prefer physical content. It's all about ownership. The day video games go completely digital is the day I hang up my controllers, sad to say.

  3. How many disc you owned on the XB1?

The only physical media game I own is Forza 5, everything else is digital.

    Dilbert????

I think i said this on the other page to Earths..........

What do you mean, you still have to download the games even if you buy the physical copy...

That statement is not true at all, in anyway shape or form. The content is on the disc and installed from there.

Now if you said "Even if you buy the physical game, you still have to download updates" then that would be true.....

But the same goes for Digital. The original games are never really ever changed, if you purchase say Titanfall, 4 years from now from Xbox.com. You will still have to download the updates that have been released. They don't normally put new full version
of games up to replace the original ones.

  7. also, if you go digital you can buy games weeks early and start playing the second it's officially released (typically even a few hours earlier) which saves you a trip to EB/gamespot and saves you time from installing it once you get home.

Why am I unable to edit comments?

Arguably, they could release physical copies you could buy early and pre install, but they don't no idea why.

People could buy and pre install the game, then go offline and change the time/date on their console to play the game early. Don't like the game? Only planned on playing it until
you beat SP? Maybe it's a SP only game? Sell it to a friend (before the official release date even arrives). All thanks to a pre released physical copy. That's why.

  10. Hello everyone Digital v physical media :)

I don't understand why so many games now require a " Day 1 Patch " because this wasn't that common with the Xbox 360.

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone Digital v physical media :)

  11. @ Galactic Geek "Why does the Australian government have such an insane attitude towards video games?" I hate to Break the news but it isn't the Australian Government.

@dufful - No Idea why you can't look at a Target Catalogue? Give it a go and let me know the prices you've found. I'm talking new games, Destiny and Evil within both cost $67 and $64. You need to be quick, I am talking new releases and they don't keep these
    prices for long

I knew this thread would turn into a debate. Everyone should know what the pro's and cons are for both. Just go for a mixture or which ever one suits you.

Speaking of Australia, I watched a Fair Go show video which was a few years ago. It was about in NZ U18's were banned from downloading any marketplace stuff (locked out). There was a software glitch where you could pay for it but not download it. But kids
would buy DLC cards or try and buy stuff digitally from authorized retailers (Xbox 360). They asked for their money back but of this no refund policy XBL has. But M who is headquarted in Auckland was forced to refund them because if the legal right to not
have to pay for something you can't get. It had a bunch of teens who did a comparison like your U18 we cant sell you alcohol but we'll take your money for it.

@Blue, you can't change the time on your console, or you would be able to do that with a digital pre orders so thats a none arguement.

  15. @ EnenDavey.

    "SYSTEM TIME

The SYSTEM TIME settings are inaccessible (and will appear “grayed out”) while you are connected to Xbox Live. During those times, your console uses “net time,” which is automatically pulled from time servers online. The two time settings you can change
when you’re not connected to Xbox Live are Time and Date."
