Digital TV Tuner and Freesat? (UK)

Does anyone know if UK Freesat can be received directly to the Xbox One using the Digital TV Tuner accessory? And the upcoming DVR feature?

I know it works with Freeview, which is through an aerial;.However, Freesat is received through a satellite; I don't know enough about television to know how that makes a difference.

Microsoft is releasing a digital tv tuner(UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany) in October for users in the previously mentioned countries to experiences TV through an over the air digital terrestrial tv tuner. The prices are £24.99 in the UK and €29.99

Digital TV tuner

So ok just wondering when compatibility for the digital TV tuner is coming to Ireland it's been out in the UK since it was released like every thing else on Xbox like voice commands UK had that straight out of the box and of course Ireland had to wait. Just
wondering about the compatibility for the digital TV cause it doesn't seem like your not releasing a region this month and your just Looking at other things so any idea when Ireland will get compatibility

Unfortunately, the digital TV tuner will not work with Freesat. Freesat uses the DVB-S (Satellite) broadcast standard, whereas the Digital TV Tuner only supports DVB-T (Terrestrial).

The digital TV tuner is for freeview, not free sat. You need to connect it to a terrestrial antenna.

It has a freesat option through the tuner.

I'm getting the same as LGB tho. Did anyone find a solution for this?

@RippenHarra Freeview is not built into every television set here in the UK and it is most commonly a Box you have to buy seperately, we in the UK have just recently gone from terrestrial TV with a wopping 5 channels to having to have a digital tuner, the
reason it is a box is because we have a choice of different providers, Sky, Freeview, Youview, Freesat, it will however eventually end up as standard that TVs will have built in digital tuners but thats not the case at the moment.

Ah Ok. Thats Different. I should have said the Digital Tuner is built into our tvs with allowing access to this one free to Air Service. On older tvs a set top box is required to get the signal to the tv but these are not provider dependent. Each box does
the same thing.
